"Yeah, they will coming with us." Hikaru told Kei by the phone. He called that day to remind him about the plan on new year together with his friends. Kei thought that it will be only him and Hikaru but he is not expecting that he will be bringing his other friends which he didn't want since those guys are noisy but there is no way he can say no to his best friend after all.
"Fine I'll allow that but answer me honestly."
"What?"
"Nothing... I'll just asked you in new year." Kei declined to say what he wanted to asked and then he ended the call. He check his phone's wallpaper and it is the picture of the penguin that they saw that Christmas Day.

Kei is asked by his mother to buy something together with his father for their celebration of the new year. It's been a while since the two shop together but also Kota tag along with them though he is not seen by his father. His father is looking at the list that his mother wrote for them to buy. Kime and Keiren are busy cleaning the house and since those two guys are not doing that much they did the shopping. He brought their car with them and then park it in the available parking area. Then enter the shopping area and they are welcomed by a free taste of yakisoba. His father love those stuffs and so he get one and also for Kei. "This taste good. I think we should buy this one." his father decided.
Kei sigh , whenever his father like something he always said that they will going to buy it but sometimes he will feel disappointed coz the one they bought is different from the samples but still he continued this bad habit of him. "Alright." he agreed though he knows this bad habit of his father. He just miss seeing it ones again. After eating the free yakisoba, they continue as their plan. Kei will going to get those fresh products like vegetables and meat since his father didn't know what to get. His father will going to buy those that are preservatives. Kota tag along with Kei who will buy the vegetables first.
"What are you planning to eat on new year's eve?" Kota asked Kei.
"My mom said that we will do hot pot but my sister said that he wanted some Italian food like spaghetti and pizza. And so we decided that we can do both."
"That's a lot for a 4 member family."
"Mom said that to start a new year we should be surrounded by abundant thing so that the whole year, good fortune will follow but i don't think that is the real reason. If others Christmas Eve is their family bonding then for us it's New Year. Everyone must be in the house for it."
Kota smiled and stop flying and start stepping on the floor. "I'll help you choosing for the ingredients."
"You know what to choose?"
"Of course, i can remember myself being a cook. I know how to choose what vegetables and meat is the best."
"I just noticed that your memory is slowly coming back."
"Now that you mention i noticed that as well. Lately things are keep on flashing back on my mind and i think they are my memories when i am still alive."
They continue doing the shopping and like what Kota said he really knows what to choose. Of course Kei knows as well since he is always with his mother when they are buying this stuffs, he learned lots of stuffs to his mother and ones mentioned he can remember everything. When he is done, he search for his father who still not done with buying. When he saw him he is eating some fruits again and of course those are free for customers to taste. After buying the stuffs they bought some ice cream and eat it inside the car before going home. That is where Kei get his habit of eating ice cream even its winter.
While the father and the son are talking they saw 2 guys running in front of the shopping mall. That attracted their curiosity and so they take a look at it and to Kei's surprised he saw the fat boy crying. There is a woman lying on the ground and she is unconscious. The fat boy saw Kei and then he asked him to help his mother to go to the hospital. Some of the people around call for an ambulance but Kei's father check the woman's condition and he said that they should bring him as early as possible. He get their car and then give space for the woman. They let her ride inside and Kei's father said that he should stay there for he will bring her to the hospital.
"Don't worry my father will bring her safe." Kei told the fat boy. He is still crying a lot and it looks like he was terrified and he didn't know how to handle such type of incident. He search for Kota to asked him what he should do but he is not around.

Kei and Kou, the fat boy who introduced himself while they are on their way to the hospital came to the hospital to see immediately his mother who collapsed. He was too worried and so Kei brought him with him. He saw his father outside the room and he is talking to the doctor about the situation. His father saw him and so as the woman's child, he excused himself to the doctor and then he smiled and approach the two.
"Don't worry little boy, your mother is already safe. She is just tired and so she collapsed and she has fever as well so she need to stay in the hospital for a little diagnoses." he told him assumingly.
"B...but we don't have money to let my mother stay here for a day." Kou said.
"Don't worry i settled the finances already."
Tears start to form from the fat boy's eyes. He feels blessed and he didn't know what to say but thank you. Kei was happy that everything is settled already. They went inside the room and then to Kei's surprised he saw Kota inside and staring at the woman's face. He is wondering all these time where did he go and he is not expecting he will see him in the hospital.
The mother regain consciousness and then he thank the Inoo for the help that they did to her. The father who was grateful was really happy to hear about it. When he observed that everything is fine already Kei and him decided to go back home. Kou send them outside and then Kei's father give him an ice cream for him to cheer up and think that everything's gonna be fine.
The two went back home with a smile on their faces but they are late and so Kemi got mad at them but they explained what really happened and so she forgive them. Lunch is already prepared and they are waiting for them to come by. Keiren is already hungry after all the cleaning and so she was pissed off that they are not coming back yet.

Kota is spacing out since they get out of the hospital and he is not as talkative as he is. "Are you still that worried about it?"
"I thought she's gonna die." Kota said. "I thought she's gonna die and so i follow them and told her that she should not die yet. Being dead is not great at all. There are things that you can't do and so...I don't want her to die."
That was the first time i saw the worried face of Kota, that face full of sadness and the eyes that is near to tears. Even ghost can feel emotions, that is what i thought. I don't know what its like but i can feel his regret of dying. Can't able to do the things that he wanted to do, restraining himself because he can't be any of help and just watching as others are suffering, which are all an awful feeling. But every people will die and its something that will happen even you try to stop it.
"Kota, can you stop thinking unnecessary things. She will not die since she is strong." Kei told him coz he feels that if he didn't say anything that guy in front of him will be vulnerable the whole day and he can't take it. He hates that jolly, cheerful type of Kota but its better than seeing him sulking over such trivial matter. "If you want let us visit them tomorrow."
"Inoo-san, thank you."

"My mom told me to give this." Kei give a basket of fruits and then he put it in the side table of the hospital bed. "How are you feeling madam?" he asked after that.
"I'm fine, thank you for helping us. We will consider this a big debt to pay for your family. You are so nice."
"Don't think that way. My parents wanted this so you don't need to pay for it. I heard that you can go out of the hospital by tomorrow? Isn't that great Kou, you can celebrate New year together."Kei told him and Kou smiled back at him. His looks tired but he is sure happy and delighted. After an hour spending inside the hospital, Kei told that he need to go back home already and he wish them a happy new year.

"I told you she will going to be fine." Kei told Kota who is feeling a little better after all that happened.
"Yeah, thank you for cheering me up."Kota said.
"I just want to asked, why are you so worked up about it? You are so worried about madam. It's as if he is your mother."
Kota pause for a moment and so Kei thought that he is thinking about it. He was expecting an answer immediately but i takes few seconds before he said something about it. "When i first saw her in the shopping area i have this tingling feeling inside my heart. But maybe she just looks like my mother so i... I feel that way. This is the worst i can't even remember the face of my family. I wonder where they are or i wonder if i have one."
"Of course you have. What are you thinking? Slowly your memories are coming back and with the things that you told me it is obvious that you have a family that cares for you and shaded tears when you die. You are not alone... Like what you are thinking all these time." Kei sighed and then averted his look towards Kota who is staring at him and then tears are flowing from his eyes again. He is shocked that he didn't know what to do at all. "Wh...why are you crying?"
"I..i'm sorry...i can't stop the tears. I feel so happy. I am glad i meet you Inoo-san. For some reason i feel like i don't want to go to heaven anymore and just stay here with your forever."
"Huh? What is that embarrassing thing you say. Besides i can't stay in this dream forever."
I almost forget about it, i am enjoying what is happening that i forget that everything are just dream b...but... Why do i have a feeling that i want this to become real and hoping that it is not a dream.

"Kei-chan, why did you left the barbecue, they will going to burn." Keiren shouted. She take a look at it and then feel relief that it was not totally burned yet. Doing barbecue is not on their plan but since Kou give them a fresh meat as a gift of gratitude then they cook it as a barbecue. Their mother is busy cooking the spaghetti while Kei is in charge of the pizza and barbecue but he forget about it and so Keiren is in charge of it already. Their father just come back and he bought some lights.
Just at the exact time everything is already prepared and as the countdown goes they all cheer up Happy New Year. They started eating the food that they cook and they all taste good and even the meat as well. Kei give an offering on the altar where Kota watch him do it. "Happy New Year Kota" he whispered.
"Happy New Year too." Kota responded.
After eating Keiren excitedly open the lighting and then start playing with it. "Kei-chan let's do this." Keiren cheerfully told him but Kei doesn't want it since he dislike the smell emitted from the smoke and besides it is a pollution in the air.
"Kei-chan, there is nothing wrong playing with lights even a little right?" his father asked him and that give him no choice. After that they take a family picture together.

Kei meet with Hikaru who is with his other friends. They are talking about the stuffs they did last night and they look like enjoying the conversation. It is not snowing but the weather is still cold. Hikaru asked him what they did that night and he told him the whole story. They went to the temple and then start praying for a good year and also for their wish for the new year to be granted.
When they are done praying, they went to draw their fortune. Everyone get their paper and then they opened it at the same time. One of their friend get a super lucky and so he shouted in joy and excitement, because that means that he did a great start for his year. The other got lucky while Hikaru get bad luck and so he immediately crumpled that piece of paper and throw it away. Kei on the other hand folded that paper and put it on his pocket. They asked what he get but he didn't want to say to them besides he doesn't believe on it on fortunes and luck.
They decided to stay there till the night since they heard that there will be a fireworks display. But since they still have long hours to spend they decided to separate ways for a while and just see each other when the fireworks will going to start already. Hikaru's friend asked him to come with them but he decline the offer and choose to come with Kei who doesn't care at all even he is all alone.

Since the two are alone already, Kei confronted Hikaru and asked him what he wanted to asked since that day that they talked on the phone. "You can see him right? The ghost besides me." Kei asked while point his finger to Kota who is flying besides Kei.

Boy A and Boy B eyes meet each other for a few seconds and though strangers to each other they exchanges smile. Boy B approach Boy A and then immediately hold on his hand and he put out his handkerchief and wipe the blood away. In his mind he thought that it was painful but he wonders what he is doing and he is all wounded like that.
"What are you doing? Are you searching for something?"Boy B asked Boy A who nodded his head in response.
"I am searching for the last piece... The last puzzle piece."
"A puzzle piece and then you end up like this? You will just get hurt if you will continue."
"It's alright i am fine."
"I will help you... I will help you search for it." he said without hesitation. They just first meet but he is already captivated with feelings he can't understand. And since he is still troubled about what the young beautiful woman offered to him he will think about it first and at the same time help this fellow to search for the last missing puzzle piece.
Boy A smiled as his hair short silky hair is dancing together the wind. "Thank you."
