Summary: Borderline is a moment in time where wishes are granted but with a equivalent compensation.

Chapter XI
June 10, 2007; 7:30
Kei visit his father's grave, he bought a flower and a candle to light. He then pray and then after that he stayed their for a moment and try to relax his mind. He didn't see Kota since the day he left, he really hide himself and didn't show himself even Kei waited for him all these days. Though it is not totally clear yet, he has a glimpse of what is really happening to his surroundings but there is one thing which he can't understand that keeps on flashing on his mind. He dream about it last night and it is all about a guy meeting an accident but he can't see the face so he didn't know who it is.
He went out of the cemetery and then he saw Hikaru running to his direction and he has a paper with him. He stops and then run after his breathe before he start to talk. "I....I receive a letter."
"From who?"
"Kota." Hikaru replied and then he showed it to Kei.
Hikaru,
Thank you for everything that you have done for me. The days i spent together with you and Inoo-san is really enjoyable though it's true that sometimes we can't agree with each other. Honestly i know from the start that you can see me but i didn't told Inoo-san that yet and pretended that you can't see me at all. I'm sorry for that. It's short but it's memorable and even i will be away i will treasure those memories with you. Please take care of Inoo-san for my sake. You see through me right? Inoo-san is not just a friend to me, he is special. I love him. I can't trust anyone other than you so please, i will look forward to it. Good bye and thank you."
Kota.
After reading the letter Kei tore it up and that surprised Hikaru. He throw the pieces of paper in the ground and start walking. Hikaru wanted to pick up the letter again but then some parts are blown by the wind and so he didn't do it anymore and just follow Kei wherever he plans to go. They walk and walk without a certain destination until they reach a certain place where they saw Kou and Ayaka together with some baggage with them. He noticed that they in front of the Yabu residence and it looks like they will going somewhere.
"Kou, where are you going?" Kei asked him.
"Well, my parents decided that we should live in Hokkaido since the farm needs assistance. My uncle can't do it alone and now we will going there and continue living to that place." Kou explained. "Sorry if i didn't tell you about it besides i don't think it's the right timing to say it."
"Hikaru-nii, I'm going to miss you." Ayaka said as she hugs Hikaru all of a sudden. She is bringing her goldfish with her and she put in a large bottle with water inside. "Don't forget about me, nii-san. "
"They will go on trip first and then I will follow them this afternoon since I need to fix something. But i will send them to the station." Kou said.
"Let us help you on your baggage." Kei volunteered and then he get some of the bags. Hikaru look at Kei and wonder what he is doing. They should be thinking of a plan to help Kota since like he said June 10 is his last day but since he is following whatever Kei did then he just joined in. The whole family went to the station with their baggage and then said their farewell to the two. Kei is glad to Kou's mother healthier than before and he is sure that his father too.

"So you will have a journey alone this afternoon?" Hikaru asked Kou while they are walking going to town. Kou nodded his head and smiled back. "I didn't know that you live in Hokkaido, it i such a nice place."
"Yeah but honestly i want to stay in Tokyo longer and i am sure i will be back to this place again."
"SO this will be the last time that we will see each other as well." Kei opened and that make Kou's face sad. "Are you planning to cry again?"
"No, i want to endure it. I will not be a cry baby anymore." Kou responded and then he nod down. "Thank you very much Inoo-san Yaotome-san, for all the things that you did to me. It is a short meeting but i am happy meeting you two. Y...you are my first friends, you consider me as friend right?"
Hikaru and Kei smiled "Of course you fat boy. When you come back just contact us." Hikaru told him and then they take their separate ways since Kou arrived to the place where he need to do something. Kei and Hikaru start walking when he heard someone called Kota. He look back and then he saw Kou entered that house.

"What is your plan now?" Hikaru asked Kei after they got separated to Kou. "the day will end soon without us seeing Kota. You even tear up that paper that he wrote for me."
"if he wanted to say goodbye then he should do it face to face. I don't need a sheet of paper as a farewell." Kei said. "I'm going back home."
Hikaru and Kei separated ways, Kei went back home coz he feels tired. He entered his room and then put down his bag. He lay down his bed and then while looking around he saw a stem of cherry flowers on his table and a piece of paper on it. He immediately sit down and then get that piece of paper and like what he thought it is Kota's letter for him.
Kei Inoo
With my last seconds i pulled to write this letter. There so much things i wanted to tell to you but i didn't know how to start. But let me tell you something first, a confession. Can you remember the first day we meet? You said that you can't remember it but i remember every details of that day. December 21, 2006 9:25 that is the first time that our eyes meet each other in that cherry tree in the temple near your house. But actually that is the not the first time i saw you, December 19 is when i first saw you, it is was night time but you are there in the cherry tree and start crying. At first i thought you are girl because you look so cute but i was deceive i regret describing you cute when all of a sudden you punch the cherry tree because you are mad. The next day i always follow you around but secretly until you see in that December 21. i was really shocked when you start talking to me but at the same time i am happy that you can see me and talk to me but you keep on denying about my existence.
Thank you for everything. Even i said these so many times there is no way i will get tired for you deserve it. I was really happy when i meet you, i was really delighted that you agree on helping me. I know there are times that you are irritated about me but still you stayed and i was so happy. Honestly i want to stay longer... I want to stay by your side but it's not possible i guess. So i want you to be happy and find love. I guess Yaotome-san can provide that to you so stay with him forever. Opppss... My hands are vanishing now... I guess i can't finish this anymore so i'm going to end it up already.
Sorry i can't say goodbye personally like i promised to you so.....i want you to know... I want you to know that... I....
Kota Yabu
Kei sit down on the floor and then he just stare at the letter, he can imagine how hard for Kota to write the letter but he suddenly sit straight when he noticed something. Kota Yabu is written in the end and he thinks that it is familiar. Finally he feels like a light bulb suddenly blink on his mind. All puzzled, all answers was already within his reach. Everything is not answered and his hand started to tremble. He need to move faster, he need to get things done or if he was late then nothing will change. He immediately get his phone and call Hikaru and told him to search for Kou as soon as possible.
Kei wear his shoes and also went out to search for him. He have nothing on his mind that time but only to search for that ghost.
The answers everything is on him already. The reason why he is in the Borderline. What is Kota to him? What is the compensation waiting for him.

Kei and Hikaru meet in the central park to report if they saw him but they failed. Hikaru went back to the Yabu's residence but Kou is not there anymore. It seems like he is on his way to the train station to go back to Hokkaido. Hikaru didn't know why is Kei being in panic searching for Kou but he didn't asked anymore coz it seems like they are fighting against time. They finally reach the station but it seems like Kou was still not there. They come earlier than expected. Kei and Hikaru separated ways to look for him again but just near the station coz any minute he will arrive in that place.
Kei dialed his number again to his phone but he is not picking up. He tried it so many times but still nothing.
"Why is he not answering his phone?" Kei asked while he keep on pushing the keypad of his phone. "Please… please…"

Kei dialled Kou's number and finally he answered it. He immediately asked where he is and he said that he is in a nearby manga store near the train station and he asked why he is searching for him. Kei immediately rush going to that manga store which he knows because he always went there and without ending the call. He just talk to him asking if he already buy some food coz he will going to miss the food in Tokyo. Kou laugh and he thought that it is true, he will really miss the food in Tokyo.
Kei finally have a sight of Kou who is about to cross the street. "Kou, do...don't cross the street." he shouted but it seems like he is not listening to him. Kei immediately run towards Kou, he wanted to save him and he will definitely save him no matter what even he needs to sacrifice his life.
Kota Yabu and Kou is just one person. Kota the ghost is the 20 years old body of Kou who became a spirit because he died in that accident. Kota cannot go to heaven because there are things that he need to fulfil. All those wishes which he was not able to do when he was still alive. The Ferris wheel, the trip to Hokkaido and also the goldfish in Tanabata. Kou cannot do all those stuffs and upon helping him to do this Kota's memories is changing as well. But I guess he is back as a ghost not because he wanted to fulfil his wish but it is because he was given an opportunity to be alive again and I guess the deal is to stop his death using me. I meet Kota before and it is something I can't remember in my present time and the reason is because it is the compensation for entering the Borderline. While using the Borderline in my past life, my present self will suffer for he can't remember who is Kota and because of that he will enter Borderline again and it will just repeat. All the memories of Kota is gone in my present self and upon entering Borderline it becomes all clear to me. Kota is not just a dream but he really exists in reality.

Kei opened his eyes and found himself standing in the cherry tree where Kota and him first meet. He saw him standing near the tree with his complete body and he was smiling back at him. "D…did i… did I save me? Yo….you're not going anywhere right?" Kei asked him.
"Thank you very much Inoo-san. Thank you for saving the 14 years old me and because of that I didn't die. But it's also time for us to leave this world. Let us give this time to our 14 years old self." Kota told him. Kei look at his body and he is on his 20 years old body.
"Yeah… but ones I go back to my present time. My 14 years old me will forget about you because it is the compensation for going in Borderline. He will not remember you anymore." Kei answered feeling bad about the situation.
"But you can remember me on your present time." Kota replied back to him and that startled Kei coz he think he was right. His memories of him already comes back and ones he goes back to his real time then that means he can remember him already.
Kei covered his mouth with his hand as it was shaking upon realizing the truth. It feels like a dream, everything seems like a dream to him. "Will… will we see each other in our present time? Can I see you there?"
Kota smiled as he wipe the tears away from Kei's eyes. Kei was surprised that he felt for the first time the warmth of his big hand on his face. He can touch him, he can feel him. He is not a ghost anymore. "I'll always wait for you… We will see each other again, Inoo-san. So you don't need to be sad."
Kei hug Kota tightly "Let us see in the future again." he uttered and then Kota suddenly vanished from his grasp. He look at his hand and he noticed that he was vanishing as well. Before he totally leave he look at his past world for the last time and before he whole body is gone he said thank you for everything specially to Shayna who was there and saying goodbye to him.
