Genre: emo
Summary: Taekyeon misses JaeBum. He curses himself for ever getting involved with the man from Seattle. He looks at the other couples in the band, analyzing all of them, looking through and into the shadows of each “loving” couple.
Warnings: I don’t like it, pretty much at all. But the idea was in my head and wouldn’t go away.
Taekyeon already could tell this was shaping up to be a bad day when he woke up, not on his own, not to his alarm clock, not to JaeBum jumping through the window saying “I’m back” (even though they were on the sixth floor), but to WooKhun fighting.
“What is your problem?” WooYoung cursed the Thai Prince, and Taekyeon leaned heavily against their door frame as he tried to figure out what they could possibly be fighting about now.
“I was only talking to him, WooYoung! We can’t even be friends now?” Nichkhun defended desperately, shielding his laptop from an angry WooYoung.
“No! Because of him you… you…” WooYoung growled, losing his stamina a bit before bringing his defenses back up, “You used me! You were a bastard! You didn’t care about me at all and just wanted to get me in bed!” The younger one growled.
Nichkhun noticed Taekyeon in the doorway and went to WooYoung, “I told you I was sorry, I thought you said you forgave me.” He replied, wrapping his arms around WooYoung and enveloping him in a hug.
“I want to… but I’m scared he’ll take you back.” WooYoung replied, his weaker side showing through.
“Never,” Nichkhun promised; then mouthed, “Sorry for waking you,” to Taekyeon.
Taekyeon nodded and went to the living room, seeing the magnae sitting on the couch in an equally as awake state as Taekyeon.
“Where’s Junho?” Taekyeon grunted.
“Who? Oh… Sleeping…” ChanSung mumbled sleepily, not taking his eyes off the TV for more than a couple seconds.
Taekyeon sat down in a chair and looked out the window, not surprised to find it raining.
He also wasn’t surprised to find it reminded him of JaeBum. After all, it always rains in Seattle. His mind told him as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. He looked to the magnae and then to the television.
As Junsu came out, he sat down next to ChanSung on the couch and laid his head back.
“Can’t sleep?” ChanSung asked him.
“Didn’t sleep enough,” JunSu replied simply.
“I don’t get why you never get any sleep. Thailand is only a two hour difference from here,” Nichkhun replied as he joined them in the living room.
“Golf is always busy… it seems.” Junsu replied lazily.
“If it was any other brother, I’d question his motives, but Golf is a good guy.” Nichkhun replied, a slight grin apparent on his face.
“Good to know,” Junsu replied sarcastically.
“Where’s WooYoung?” Taekyeon asked the Thai man.
“Went back to sleep.” Nichkhun replied.
It was later that day Taekyeon realized he grown to live off the other band member’s relationships. He had also grown very familiar with the relationships in the band.
He watched WooKhun cuddling on the couch, and thought if he had to give a name to the couple; it’d be something along the lines of ‘broken.’ WooYoung had little to no trust in Nichkhun after finding out he had been used for five of the six months they had been together, but WooYoung still loved Nichkhun dearly. Nichkhun was trying to make up for his mistakes by treating WooYoung as best he could, and anyone else would instantly fall head-over-heels (back) in love if treated the way WooYoung was being treated. However, the air of mistrust was still very apparent, and WooYoung was typically nervous to accept even little things like kisses from Nichkhun.
He then glanced to ChanSung and Junho, currently stuck on separate ends of the couch since the WooKhun wouldn’t move from the middle; but really, it wasn’t something unusual. ChanHo wanted to be a secret couple, and Taekyeon slightly wondered if they were ashamed of admitting they were gay. The two were painfully secretive about their relationship, even after the rest of the band found out.
Then there was Junsu and Golf; probably the couple he related to the most. Junsu had originally met Golf when Golf and Mike had come to visit Nichkhun a few months back. Junsu and Golf got along well, and within the week admitted they liked each other. They had managed to form their own language of a weird mix of Engrish and Korean, and had become very close. Junsu had practically become a computer hermit, constantly talking online with Golf until odd hours of the morning. Junsu was usually moping around, just going about his day when he couldn’t be talking to Golf. The more Taekyeon thought about it, the more he realized he was probably the same way. Long distance relationships are hard to do, made only slightly easier by instant messenger and websites like cyworld and hi5 (Junsu got one after being shown how to use it by Golf; it’s a really popular website in Thailand. Taekyeon can’t figure what makes it so great, and still prefers facebook and cyworld). It wasn’t that Junsu was miserable; it was quite the contrary. He was in a love so new and pure… all he could think about was his boyfriend.
Taekyeon thought he was lucky. He and JaeBum were each other’s first male crush, before each other, they never thought they’d love another man, convinced they were straight, and both had their own line up of ex-girlfriends. They got together not long after they debuted, and it took them another few months before being able to engage in sex, both too uncomfortable with the idea of sodomy. But the bond that had grown since they got together became so huge, not hearing from JaeBum, and seeing how comfortable he had made himself back in Seattle left Taekyeon feeling abandoned, not eased by JaeBum’s lack of communication or mention of their relationship since he left. Taekyeon had decided he was mad at JaeBum not even a month after the American had left, and continued to this day to be infuriated at the man who never even bothered to at least pretend he was planning to come back. The anger he felt masked the pain; and it let him go on with his life as the new leader of 2PM.
Thinking about it, Taekyeon realized something important. He looked to WooKhun, ChanHo, and Junsu… All of them were hurting in some way: WooYoung wanted to believe in his lover again; Nichkhun wanted a way to truly, whole-heartedly, have his love back.
ChanSung and Junho were holding back on each other, and it stifled the relationship.
Junsu was forced into a long distance relationship because his heart decided to fall for a man who lived miles away and only came to Korea once in a while.
While him… He didn’t know he would lose his lover to a furious country and a reputation once he returned home.
No one asked for painful relationships.
No one asked for heartbreak.
