This was fantastic! You had them spot-on! The nudgy, friendly-but-wishing-for-more, teasing balance was perfect.
I loved all the little details you put into it: like Sam offering him back the eggnog (he so spiked it!), Sam's hair being static-y, and the little leg nudge at the end.

This means SO MUCH to me coming from you, because you write SG-1 (and them!) so very well. Maybe now that I've posted my first, I'll feel more able to write more S/J. I think it was just that initial "OMG, I know so many great writers for SG-1, and mine is gonna suuuuuuuck" feeling that I needed to get over.
I'm glad the little details worked for you! I was rather fond of them. And I'm glad you noticed the passing back and forth of the same cup. I feel like they're the kind of friends who wouldn't think twice about drinking after each other.

haha, a bon-bon is a food yes, but I was actually leaning towards the Christmas bon-bons. What do you call them? Crackers? You put them on the table and pull the ends - you get a hat, a toy and a dodgy joke?

It's the little details that make me love a fic, and you're right, they would share a cup without hesitation. It's one of the things I love about them - and you've caught it so well in your fic - that they'd pass back food and drink, clothing, ANYTHING without hesitation, but the mere thought of spending any unofficial time together terrifies them.

THAT was awesome! You captured their characters completely. The only criticism I have is I WANT MORE!!! You have found the perfect situation and you have just the right amount of angst and underlying tension and desire. Its perfect!! I cant believe this is your second fic ever and your first Jack/Sam, More please!!! Have I said that already? Because you are too good to stop now!! ;)

I could so see this happening on the show. The acknowledgement of what is there, or how they feel, and their decision to not let it go any further, but hope for the future.
