When we went to C10 in Chicago we noticed the same thing. 90% of the people we ran into were very friendly and welcoming. I got hooked. =)

Yes...you must go next year..

It's totally addicting and the people are absolutely wonderful just like Ducky said :)

The Goth Cruises are the same way, totally something that we're not used to.

I've been pondering something about the whole event.
the idea that, these people paid alot of money, took time off normal or not so normal jobs in order to go to this event. they must be relatively well off, and generally, very social if they're willing to travel that distance and party. this means it is a misrepresentative cross section of the community as a whole.
a cross section I like. :)

I don't know about well of. I think it's more the fact they it's a more financially established group. More of the corporate world of goths.

A good portion of the people I met last year were from the CorpGoth Mailing list too. I find it really nice to be around a mature crowd that leaves the drama at the door and just wants to have fun.

right I think that's what I was getting at there. financially established to a certain degree.
it's amazing cause goths like any scene generally include heavy amounts of drama. this event is once a year so only so much shit can go down in the group plus I'm sure people come and go so the propensity for dramatic bullshit just keeps dropping. so nice.
