Birthday Shenanigans.

I'm really having quite a grand time. I promise to have my butler upload all of the photos for you. I did have the misfortune to leave me camera at home, but Jack has promised me that he can pull it all off of CCTV for me. Here are the first couple he's done so far. As you can see, we're having a fine time.

Ma'am, my family have waved at your travels for years. Many Happy Returns.

Excellent! Proper waving is often taken for granted by the young these days. My own son is a most inauspicious waver. Perhaps you could come for tea sometime and show him how a proper wave is done?

Let him dance with Janet instead. I see that Ianto has worked his usual haberdashery magic on her; most festive!

(also posted at Ianto's journal.)

May I offer my belated birthday wishes to the Queen of the 21st Century? (As she will be known at some point. I won't say what point.) I am late as making the time conversion over the centuries is difficult to do without a super computer and the one I have access to is otherwise occupied with a small emotional disaster at the moment. Thus I did it by hand and moved the wrong decimal.

But Happy Birthday, Dear Queen.

It's no spoiler to tell you the sad news that Charles never will learn to wave properly. It won't be until your great-granddaughter's time that the wave will be restored to its proper place of respect. (The good news, of course, is that you will have a great-granddaughter to teach this to. Or maybe Gwen does. The records are unclear on this point. At any rate, she will have a darling and very proper wave and the Empire will be proud.)

Such sad news! My poor darling Charles. Never to know the freedom of the perfect wave. Thank you for giving me some hope for the future. Knowing that the wave shall not be lost heartens me considerably.

Your well wishes for my birthday are well received. I thank you for them. Such dancing! I do believe I shall sleep in today.

Liz
