I do that too, so I try to keep myself in check. Usually, though, people don't really care unless you are *really* trying to do it. If I do run into someone that seems to be getting a bit annoyed about it or I catch myself, I make a quick apology with an "I always do that, sorry. It's a quirk" type of thing. They always let it go because I acknowledge what I'm doing, apologize, and take the blame without making it a key focal point. :-)

It does remind me of when I was LARPing (live action role playing... which is like D&D w/ impromtu acting and costuming and woods and such)... I was playing a dwarf (with long beard, and covered in *fake* furs)... very to the point, very gruff voice... and was talking to someone with a Western accent... and started talking with a gruff voiced western accent. *laughs* My dwarf told the other character, "Stop doing that!" when she realized she had done it. *laughs*

Today, red hair is most commonly found at the western fringes of Europe; it is associated particularly (though not primarily) with the people located in the United Kingdom and in Ireland (although Victorian era ethnographers claimed that the Udmurt people of the Volga were "the most red-headed men in the world").[6 ( ... )

I lived in outside Boston for over a year and picked up the twang, when I came back home, I didn't notice it but everyone here started to ask me where I was from, I even throw in the occasional wicket good.
