It is another night at the mall food court. The man sits with his wife, tucked away in the corner. He spoons her potato from "Steak and Bake" as she bows her head with a blank gaze. Just out of curriousity, what inspired you to write this? (I am assuming you wrote it). It's interesting. Nice discription, nice imagery, quite thought-provoking. I particualry like the last sentence. The suggestion of a nonverbal conversation is the perfect conclusion. Well done!

It's just one of the many scenes of life I observed that really made me think about things. It particularly hit home and made me sad because it reminded me of my grandpa and my grandma who just died of Alzheimer's. I think it's probably the cruelest disease. But there was something so beautiful and tender about it at the same time.

Ah. We started seeing signs of Alzheimers in my Nanny, (grandmother,) about 2 or 3 years ago. She has gotten progressively worse recently. I would agree, Alshzheimer's is a cruel disease.
