Fire In The Hole - Author's Notes
I'll keep this one short, I think.
About the topic: This i a tough topic, especially considering that I'm a German white girl and the last thing I want is to be seen in the light of this 'white supremacy' topic. So why did I write this? Well, for those who read it hopefully it became clear that this is about narrow-mindedness and prejudice. But also about being pulled into something that people, especially kids, shouldn't ever be exposed to. I think we need to talk about it and so I did. I hope I didn't offend anybody in the process.
About writing this: I started this story in 2011 for the last spn_j2_bigbang... let's say I got distracted then. ;) This year I had a really hard time finding a story that I wanted to write while staying true to my vow to keep it in the 20-30k length this time around. After some back and forth I decided to come back to this story. When I was done, I felt like something was missing because Jensen (for obvious reasons) couldn't have a POV like he usually does, and I got the idea to give a tiny side character, Sheriff JD Morgan, who only appeared in 2 scenes before his own tiny story line and it was a good decision.
