Settled in
After a rather chaotic move-in, my room sort of looks like a livable place now. It is small, but for one person it's fine. Elizabeth and I got the futon together, but I still need to get a few extra bolts for it so it can fold out. With the TV and stuff, it kind of looks like a mini-living room ( Read more... ) -
No more work!
I mooched off the free lunches at Princeton the rest of the week after my presentations and my grad student took me for ice cream Friday (peanut butter swirl!) and I saw my first Lamborghini on the street in Princeton. Why anyone would leave that thing parallel parked on the street evades my though ( Read more... ) -
Week 6...
Lab is going ok...except for that 4 hour lab meeting yesterday where I had to present my data and found out about this at 7:10am for a 12pm meeting...oh yes, and I had experiments to run too. Arrrr. Now I'm making new particles with a slightly different polymer to look at how the PCL is crystallizing in my particles. Also I'm hopefully getting some ( Read more... ) -
Back to work...ugh
Experiments can be a real flog when dust keeps getting into them and fouling them up. Hopefully they will start to behave better soon. Got paid last week, so that made my bank account much happier. Spent the 4th with Will at the Southampton parade, running, and his neighbors' party. Lots of tasty food there :) Going to a Phillies game tonight with ( Read more... ) -
Week 2 done!
I finally got to actual stuff in the lab this week. Basically, I made a lot of solutions of Nile red (uber-expensive organic dye) with various combinations of THF (tetrahydrafuran) and water and then mixed up some nanoparticles too when I added some polymer.
