Training Holes

I know I have mentioned my training holes - such as the chute. Yeah - remembered another one as I stepped to the line on Sunday with Sizzle: the triple. Never seen one. Because Zorro is such a poor jumper, I am always setting up weird jumps for him to do when I practice. No one else seems to use them, but I have made it very front in my mind to get out the different jumps and remind him that he has to jump differently depending on what type of jump it is. But it is extremely easy to get complacent about setting out all the weird jumps. Same with tunnels (different shades) weaves of different width and even contacts if you switch between venues. For example, when I first did AKC with my older dog, I got everything out that I thought she would see; panel, spreads, broad. But I didn't know that the table was a lot lower than USDAA. So she just walked over it, it was so low. I now practice low tables with Zorro. ML

Apparently my next step is to hang weird things (pieces of clothing, toys, whatever) on the jumps so no matter what, if I say "jump" they will do it. I've never done THAT before

There is a CR article that talks about doing just that, in the past 6 months. If you are into that sort of thing. My panel jump was a towel over a regular jump. ML
