*sigh*

SOMEONE LET ME GO BACK TO COLLEGE. Seriously. One weekend is about the maximum amount of time I can tolerate my family. In other news, I am an insomniac now. :(

I really love how gay this video is. I'm sad there isn't more, y'know, ACTUAL gayness, but the sexiness and eyeliner and voice and lyrics and lensflare!! are enough for me.

Whoa. That was somehow not what I expected. I can't decide if I expected more 'mainstream' (whatever that is), more camp, more... what? I'm really not sure what to make of that video. But I'm liking the song a whole lot better than I did from That Live Performance t'other night. One thing about Adam, I'm not sure he can ever, ever, perform in a way that doesn't make me smile. I wish him well, and I'm proooobably gonna have to buy that album. :-)

Are you expected to return home again for Christmas/New Year?

Speaking of things that could be more gay, I really wish the maker of this icon had responded to my request for a slash (or more diverse--I even think it could be funny with a random hippopotamus or juicy green apple thrown in there) version.

Also, I wish interviewers everywhere would shut up about Khan. Khan isn't some magic guarantee of a good movie. ST II only worked because it was a follow-up to a TOS story. Also, if we're supposed to buy that everything that's changed in Reboot-land has done so purely as a result of Nero's interference in the timeline, how exactly are we supposed to suspend our disbelief over a Khan who looks different? He's supposed to have been floating in suspended animation since 1996 or something. How does a time-travelling-back-to-the-23rd-century Romulan change the physical appearance of someone born three hundred years earlier? Oh, I'm sure a talented enough scriptwriter could pull it off so it made sense, or make me not care that it didn't. But I'm sick of this assumption that Khan and his grudge is something that should be revisited just because it rocked the first time. /sad fan.

Yeah, I'm really hoping and wishing that they'll come up with an entirely original idea, maybe going to a really wild new planet and Kirk proving himself to be badass once again (except on his own this time). And there needs to be more Uhura being amazing by herself, and more Spock being awesome while making eyes at Kirk. :D

Oh, please, yes! I'm kinda hoping that even if it's not in the script, even if the PTB are consciously trying to prevent us from slashing these two (and some people seem to think they are), that the actors will be committed enough to their roles to start putting little things in for us. Because, damn it, even if Shatner and Nimoy weren't trying to tell us their characters were in love, there was something going on there, something beyond mere camaraderie, even back in season one TOS.

And yes to a new planet. Personally, I'd love to see a more traditional Star Trek story attempted, at the greater length film requires, rather than a could-only-be-done-for-the-big screen, ship-gets-destroyed type story. More like TMP and ST V (only, you know, less crap) than ST II, III, IV, VI. Let's see them discover a new lifeform, discover that it wants to kill them, and still attempt to make peace or otherwise resolve the situation without, you know, crashing the Enterprise into any planets ( ... )
