I don't really do resolutions, or if I do I don't do them at New Year. I guess I'm perpetually working on eating well/properly, exercising as much as is reasonable for me, facing my doctor's appointments and blood tests and CT scans and other medical crap in a calm and responsible manner, spending (or saving!) my money with some degree of wisdom, and being more patient. Doing beta work tends to be a trial on that last one, or it does with one particular author, anyway--which brings me to another thing I need to work on: being assertive, saying no/not interested/not for me, thanks instead of making excuses when I want to avoid something or want out of something, standing up for myself, dealing with people who stress me without bursting into tears. But, you know, this is general life stuff, and I don't make a special effort just because the year changes. I can, however, see that this works for you, and I'm impressed with how well you did with last year's resolutions
( ... )
Those sound like excellent resolutions to me, even if that's not what you call them. It's good to make the effort year-round, and that's why I don't beat myself up if I break one of them. Hell, I've broken several already! But for me this is a process, not a quick fix. If I've make progress by the end of the year, I'll be happy. :)
I do hope to get better at saying no, and I'm glad you will too! I also want to stop being five minutes late for nearly everything.
Hmm, my academic/work things usually come on their own, thankfully. I'm satisfied with my grades (nearly a 4.0) and my ways of obtaining money (checks from the New York Times are nice :D and I participate in research studies that pay me lots of money to take surveys and breathe into tubes for science). Maybe I'll resolve to be more studious when I'm around friends, because if one of us has a computer, I inevitably steal it to display hilarious YouTube videos and we don't get a ton of work done. :) But if there is no computer involved, I'm pretty good at gettin' down to
