That's so frustrating. At the same time, I find it interesting how people are so reliant upon debit cards. I'm the complete opposite; I prefer having cash, just because I've had too many bad experiences with debit cards.

Hubby is the one who has fostered my dependance on debit cards. At least we will get to go out for coffee together today as part of our Valentine's. Pre-sushi. We are in fasting for our feast. I think we are going to wait on the movie until a matinee on Saturday.

I'm just surprised that they didn't make a temp card for you. They have the ability (at least I would hope they do at your bank). Last time my card stopped working (from overuse/age), I went into the bank to get a replacement. It was going to take a week for the card, but they made me a temp card right there on the spot (where they hand wrote my info, and coded my bank info onto the strip). It was flimsy, thin, etc. but good enough to last. Maybe 2 minutes of work, so that I would have a card to use until my normal (thicker, nicer card).

crazy I tell you! Banks get away with anything.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I hate to be saying this because I am a female, but they all just acted like a bunch of clueless women. Nobody wanted to take responsibility or be accountable for anything (a problem that seems to be growing with all in our society). By the last time I went into the bank with my harsh sick voice and hubby standing beside me they looked like they were nervous to be near me. The manager was very nice, but even though he gave us the coffee cards, nobody ever accepted responsibility.
