I don't know why people assume that soldiers are dying all the time in Iraq, when really we are staying safe. If, by some stroke of (un)luck, you do get sent over there, I wouldn't worry about dying.  1107 have died in Iraq, accidentally or in action, out of 160,000 currently deployed.  You have a 0.69% chance of dying in combat in Iraq.  I know ( Read more... )

only when it comes to the military... not necessarily the war, but the military in general.

obviously your chances of dying are slim. These days, you don't get those types of wars where half of an American force is wiped out. America is just too powerful for that. Still, regardless of the 'chances' of dying, 1107 people have still been killed. If I were to shoot up the school and kill 5 random people, you'd have less than a one percent chance of dying too, but you'd be shitting your pants and cops would be on my ass for shooting up the school, even though more people would die of car accidents/smoking/whatever else in the same time frame. The point is, we can do something about Iraq, something like not making our guys stand around and slowly but surely get their asses kicked.

I am sorry for the HTML. I typed it meaning for a UBB message board, then just cut it to here instead. I should have proof-read it first.

Aaron, that is true, however, my only point is not that its bad... it is... just that it's not a "life-shattering" thing where we are losing our 18-25 year old men in a meat grinder.. know what I mean?

hmmm... Let's test this wonderful theory of yours. Let's drop you into a CA zone..right in the middle of all the shit... no not "Mal-Hara-tik-tik" market or any of those lil' unheard of towns doin police work or humanitarian relief work... But how about Fallujah? Put yo ass right in the mix! Then you can come back and tell me if those numbers really reflect the absolute truth in this matter.

don't be sooo silly as to believe all that you read. In combat...does'nt matter whether you are better equiped or trained (like your lil' G.I. Joes currently stationed there) ...All it takes is one lucky shot (or stray one at that) and your ass is toast.

The only reason that the U.S soldier casaulty rate is'nt as high as the last few wars, is because America is'nt involve 100% in an Search & destroy campaign. Turn this war into a search and destroy type of campaign (like Vietnam <--persay) and you'll have a 100 caskets to fill by morning...damn it! we need to get these men out of here!!!! LOL (stole that from BHD ( ... )

Yes, 1107 troops dead seems like a small number compared to other wars, or the number of Iraqi civilians dying.

Oh, but remind us what these deaths are all for again?

Because Bin Ladden got owed me $40 on a fat sack of weed he bought off me but never paid me....so I twisted the story around, flip da script, made 2 big ass airplanes crash into my city (New York @ the time) and blamed it on him..... Now we huntin his rag headed ass down and killin lots of innocent people along the way.

That's wot you get fo' not paying the dealer foo! Check yo self befo' ya wreck yo self nigga!

Jake...who da fuck cares....

we kill for oil...for religion...for politics..for love...for that piece of the american pie.... wotever. We kill because we are capable of doing so...and we allow emotions/religion/politics/ethics to get in the way of the logical solution. We kill because it's wot our specie is good at.
