journal front: submissions are rolling in, I am being invited to participate in panel discussions about publishing, artists whose work interests me are proactively contacting me to inquire about my writing and Ten Verses, and much progress is being made on the design and information architecture aspects of the website

Couple notes!:
Stan Brakhage: The Corcoran's Paul Roth curated a retro/show of Brakhage for the National Gallery two or three years ago. If you want materials, etc. from the show, let me know and I'll get Paul to cough 'em up. He's really proud of the show -- and did an "appreciation" story about him for the Post when he passed on a couple weeks back.
Auping's Guston show: Saw it at MAMFW. Oye. It's a bear. I don't know where the Met will fit it all. It's a looooooong exhibit full of big canvases.
Also check out the St. Louis Art Museum/Pompidou book on the Kelly/Matisse drawings of plants that came out last summer! (It's in French and there is an English edition.)

I'm on the lookout for an inexpensive copy of the Matisse/Kelly book and have leafed (no pun intended) through new copies at many stores. Kelly's lines are beautiful.. so sure of themselves.
