Rants of Relativity & Space.

After learning about reference frames in physics and watching a video on dark matter in chemistry, I came to a few madman thoughts...we are living in a frame, and the frames before us and after us exist in some other distance, dimension, and/or time. The something-billion people on Earth live in the same frame, delayed by air and auditory ( Read more... )

Babe, sounds like you are questioning the faith. Tell me Mare, according to Bill Bryson, there are as many stars in the universe as there are grains of sand on the planet earth. Which means that we aren't even a grain of sand, but rather a particle orbiting a grain of sand. Then you take how insignificant we are, then you are really left with soemthing to think about. My question to you is why do you believe there is a God out there who is writing everything I do and say and think down in the 'Book of Life', the book which, upon my death, he will utilize to decide whether I can go to 'Heaven' or rot in 'Hell' based upon my own 'God-given' thoughts and psychology? Do you believe our minds are 'transported' somewhere other than here when we die? If an old man wearing a suit was to lay down on the open and barren Arabian desert during a scorchingly hot and clear afternoon, die in his sleep while smiling, and you happened to be watching this, would you assume he goes to heaven or would you assume he gets swallowed back up, last breath, ( ... )

Something for me to think about. insert_thought May 31 2004, 23:18:01 UTC
Sweetie, this is a question that is impossible to prompt an absolute answer. I believe in consequences for our actions; karma, if you will. Whether the consequences is determined by a great man in the Heavens with a giant book of our sins, by balance and nature's tendency of fulfillment by opposites, or simply by our own willpower, I haven't a clue. Everyone is inclined to believe what the majority accepts as the good. In five thousand years from now, the accepted world-wide belief could be that a Banana ruled and will rule all of us. Those who do not believe in the Holy Banana will be condemed and isolated from society. Humans have the natural tendency to fill up holes; sexually, emotionally, spiritualy, even physically; eating is to fill up the hole which is our mouth and stomach. Social isolation is also a hole we persist to fill. An idea of a God fills my hole of moral confusion and insecurity. But does it mean I believe in God? This is something I cannot answer directly quite yet. As of now, he "fills" the otherwise vacant ( ... )

dood, check this, i hate to sound like star trek, but the answer is the holes, black holes. they theoretically continuosly draw things in at ever-increasing velocities, so, eventually, lightspeed, and beyond light speed are acived, at continuously increasing velocity, the time frame of the matter would constantly be leaping ahead, well, not leaping, because there would be NO FRAME OF REFERANCE! it would continuously be going onto the future of every new timeframe. matter is not dissipating, however, merely going way f***ing faster than it was when you started reading this, fun, isin't it?
