Yes, I admit to it that Hakkai's segment made me laugh in that schadenfreudian way.

Secondly, he's also more than a little Oedipal. made me flashback to that drabble I wrote (erm... it was Yumichika, Ikkaku, Oedipus complex, if I remember correctly.)

Ask Ikkaku whether or not he dislikes Gojyo and the answer will change on an hourly basis, but the answer, more often than not, will be "yes".

Why am I so amused that:-
(a) Simon is the only one on that list who does not have anything special in regards to himself (not a quincy, youkai, Nobody, Newtype clone etc. etc.); and
(b) Even Ikkaku can't really separate River and Simon?

So I ended up writing something about why Death made Ishida immortal and why she's not doing something similar for Ikkaku despite the fact that Ishida and Ikkaku are both apparently determined to commit suicide in the pursuit of duty.

It's over here.

But she loves Ikkaku anyway. :)
