I feel your pain with the noisy neighbors. When I lived in Houston I had a downstairs neighbor who played his stereo super loud in the middle of the night....i could feel the vibrations from his subwoofer in my bed. I called the cops at least once a week on this guy for about 3 or 4 months...they'd show up, he'd turn it down, they'd leave, and he'd turn it back up again.

here in Bloomington, I've got a neighbor on one side who practices the piano all afternoon and evening, and an upstairs neighbor who plays talk-radio or classical music all night long. At least with the upstairs neighbor it's gotten to the point where all I have to do is bang lightly on the ceiling and he'll turn it down (why he doesn't just leave it turned down to start with instead of waiting for me to bang on the ceiling every time, i don't know...maybe he thinks I'll sleep through it or something).

anyway, I totally understand what you're going through. Hope it gets better soon!!

I think that's the part I don't understand....why people insist on doing it in the first place. It's not suddenly going to stop keeping you awake. And, it's not your problem to find ways to ignore it...I just don't get it. The worst part is we have this noise ordinance and it never has anything done. I'm going to start requesting documentation from the police station so that I can prove it and eventually use it to get out of my lease a little early.
