A rant

Given the increasing fear-mongering and distrust of the military, I have devised a rant.

In my book, any job where you might be asked to kill innocent men, women, and children, and then refer to their killing as "collateral damage" is not a good job, no matter how much pride and a sense of belonging it instills.

Like what, being a cop? How about doctors? People die. And in my book, anyone who sees this act as "collateral damage" doesn't deserve the right to be in the armed forces. It's not a random act for the sake of fun. It's what's necessary, and it should NEVER be "easy" or haphazard. Your problem is that you assume we're all bloodthirsty killers. We may say that in road marches or sing it when we run, but no one I know enjoys the act of killing, nor do they seek it out. The grunts are just kids, thrown into situations they've been trained for but no one can ever be completely prepared for. Someone has to do it, and thank goodness it's not you.

I second what she said. Don't ever compare us to killers and murders for the simpe fact that if we didn't kill, we would be dead because they shot at us first. Don't try to act like you understand the way the world runs and then go on and say a bunch of naive crap like this.
