Weakness: Maddie, as she prefers to be called, has a propensity to be inappropriate. Perhaps because her original identity as a muse makes her a bit on the more light-hearted side of things, she can be blissfully unaware of reality, not serious when the situation calls for it, and very childish at times.
Maddie also has a tendency to go wandering off, and to be honest, she's not very fond of this city life she has going on in Manhattan. This is mostly due to the fact she's a pastoral muse, and she prefers the parks over the buildings. She does this without thinking.
History: To be honest, there is not much to say about Thalia. Being the daughter of Memory (Mnemosyne) and Zeus has its pluses, but for the most part, she was largely ignored in favor of other more exciting offspring. Perhaps being a Muse is more occupying than one would expect. Like her sisters, Thalia was raised in Thrace by Eupheme With her eight sisters, Thalia was more occupied with bestowing her gifts than getting embroiled in foreign wars or having romantic trysts (there's a rumour going around that Apollo and she are the parents of the Corybantes, but she doesn't talk about that). Since it's generally accepted that the Muses lived on Mt. Olympus, that is where Thalia was until Creon decided to get her out of there.
Personality: Compared to her sisters, Thalia tends to stay out of the limelight a bit more. She likes attention, but not the bad kind, and so for the most part, she tries to keep out of the trouble that sometimes gets up into Mt. Olympus. The only time she really becomes a ham is when she begins to get on a tangent, and for her, the best compliment is a laugh for one of her jokes. She's fairly easy to please, not exactly the most demanding of people, and for a Greek Muse, she's as easygoing as they come. She has no hidden agenda, no secret vendettas to exact, nothing at all: all Thalia has had to her name, really, is her love of the theatre and her love of the field. With those two things, why would she want anything more?
Her favorite thing to do is joke around, and because of that, Thalia is usually seen as a fairly fun companion, one who will invent an activity out of nothing and is remarkably in touch with her childish side. While this can translate to an inability to keep still and be serious, Thalia usually can smooth over a situation with a well-timed comment, and most people have trouble disliking her - and when they do, it's because they lack a funny bone in their body. Or so Thalia says, anyhow.
Thalia is very good-natured, and it takes a lot of purposeful egging and insulting to really get her riled up. Her patience is a mile-wide and she has no problem with people not laughing at her joke so long as she thinks she's funny. Most of her pleasure derives from pleasing herself, and she can be a bit oblivious of the needs and feelings of others, particularly when there is a call for a degree of seriousness that Thalia simply can never muster. She's been scolded for it before, but for the most part, it simply rolls off. She really isn't concerned.
When people do not appreciate her to the extent she wants, Thalia will retreat a bit into herself; her type of anger is the cold, silent kind, where she pretends nothing is wrong, but will refuse to open herself up to any sort of vulnerability. Her behavior can be obnoxious for those not used to her whimsical nature, but if someone likes spontaneity, walks through the park, and funny movies, Thalia (or Maddie) is most certainly your girl.
○ Thalia uses rather casual speak, peppering her talk with 'man' and 'gee' and whatever slang she picks up from her life in Manhattan.
○ She likes to call little children 'kiddo,' regardless of who they are.
○ Since she lives on Mt. Olympus with the other muses, I would assume Thalia knows the Olympians, if not personally, at least by face.
○ The girl is quite fond of her everything bagels.
