I really enjoyed this. Especially the interaction with Yuuko. It was so perfectly bittersweet.

Gotta say I wasn't expecting the last segment; but hey! It was a pleasant surprise! 8D

Yeah, I mean, I don't really know what CLAMP are trying to pull with the manga, but the whole thing with Watanuki "choosing" her over Himawari OR Doumeki really shows how much he cares about Yuuko.

Aww, come on. Doumeki is Watanuki's protector. He needs to make sure Watanuki's alright - by any means necessary.

I've been looking for Holic fic post-Watanuki owning the shop-thing, and I'm glad I found this one.

The 104 sounds a bit harsh, but that's probably what Watanuki needs to ground him to reality. It still hurts my 104-bound heart though ;P

Yeah, the way the 104 was written was decided upon when I was in a certain mood. Basically, I place this pretty soon after Watanuki inherits the shop, well before Doumeki goes to college or anything like that, and I just--

In the manga, Watanuki's decision to stay at the shop shows he cares about Yuuko more than anyone in the world, and all I could think about was if he had seen her, and talked to her, then woke up and had her taken away, just how very angry he'd be. And he accepts it, because he knows it's the right thing - nevermind hitsuzen, and Doumeki accepts his anger, because Doumeki is like that, but Watanuki can't stop feeling it.

I hope that makes it at least somewhat easier to see what I was thinking >_>

Oh totally, the anger was palpable and understandable, considering his position. I do wonder about Watanuki while he's in-transition like this fic (before his inner sexy!CountD and the chain-smoking came out) how he deals, etc. Would you consider writing in Doumeki's POV? Not necessarily in this point in time, it can be after he goes to college. I just really want to know Doumeki's thoughts of this.

(his position of almost looking from the sideline as Watanuki grows more and more into somebody he's not is heartbreaking. I love you Shizuka, but I don't envy your life T.T Wish Clamp would make it better though)

Hmm, that would be interesting to write, especially since my previous work in xxxHolic has been from Doumeki's POV. I may very well take you up on that.
