I admit it, I'm not the most up-to-date person.
I don't really go out seeking information unless I'm interested in a particular subject (or I've got an assignment on it :P )
Heck, even though I'm attending art school, I'm still clueless in practice.
Usually I just do what I want to do, make what I feel like making with all my limited abilities.
As long as someone calls it 'decent', the thought of researching more into techniques, tools, and styles hardly ever crosses my mind.
So when it comes to 'evolving'..I'm usually pretty static until I get some kind of 'enlightenment'.
And by that, I meant seeing something that can slap that arrogant, stuck-up, little b*tch in my head that always tells me, "I can do that! It's nothing special!" and finally tells her to "Shut the hell up and start working your lazy ass off."
There's a previous journal entry of mine about posting a little story I've been working on for years in a blog.
After thinking about it, that was a pretty stupid idea.
I haven't finished writing the whole thing, even though the story's main plot is already imprinted in my head.
So if I were to write it in a blog site, those who'd want to read it will have to read the chapters backwards.
And I'm not so sure about writing it in fictionpress.com, since I'm still unsure of how the story is carried out as well.
Sometimes I'd get the engines running and go on a writing (or typing :P ) frenzy.
But see, something always happens that would make me want to change some parts of the story, or rewrote the whole thing completely.
Even the current outline is COMPLETELY different from what I had initially planned.
Usually what gives me the nudge is reading other people's writings.
If their story gives me that kind of 'enlightenment', my indecisive self would immediately want to change something...since a selfish part of me insist that this story I'm writing HAS to be that-one-in-a-million-omfg-great-uber-epic-kind of story.
Though really, for the moment it's alright even if someone gives it a good feedback...since it's still pretty half-baked.
So what about Mary Sue?
Once upon a time..
Mary Sue had a little lamb.
....whose fleece was white as snooooow~~~
Eh? That's not it...
"Who the heck is Mary Sue???
I've never heard of her!!!
Is she some cowgirl from some kind of western movie?
Is she another Laura Ingalls from a 'Little House on the Prairie' look-alike?
Is she a hilbilly chick who works on farm milking cows?"
That was me when I first heard about the existence of "Mary Sue".
After some googling..and taking the supposed
Original Fiction Mary Sue Litmus Test....................

One of my characters scored a ridiculous 138!!!!
What kind of FAIL was that????
The thing is, a lot of the things I've thought up for that character coincidentally made it to be a top Mary Sue!!
AAARRRRGH.....
Changing the story's okay, but...
Changing a character is different...
Unless I see something wrong with them, I won't change them at all!
They kinda grow on ya after a while..
Kid mode: ON
"I DUN WANNA CHANGE DEEEEEEM!!!!!!!"

Looks like the best way out is for me to ask others' opinions on it.
Before I get stressed out myself from thinking too much. XP
