College rant + feeling sick

Alright! I can finally write again! :)
My mid-term exams have all passed, and now I'm in anticipation of my scores (though not much).
Last month was rather hectic with the mid-terms, experimenting with textile surface designs, and of course, homework.
But THANK GOD it's all past me now.

Speaking of Surface Design, I'm supposed to have that class today.
And again...for the (I dunno how many)-eth time, my lecturer did not appear at campus.
I dunno if I should say "Hooray" or start cursing.

She hasn't appeared for class in a long time.
Every time she does make an appearance, she expects us to experiment away in our free time so the next time she comes to campus for class, we'd have a sample of the "textile" we modified.
*sigh*

No use complaining.
We all know she's busy, with all the projects she has and pursuing a Ph.D.

I just have one problem, though.
She always expects us to try out combining unusual techniques and unconventional materials (i.e. fruit wrappings, plastics, etc) in modifying our textiles.
But none of what I have shown her had her whole approval.
I just wish I know how to make something decent for her standards.

In the words of Utada Hikaru: "Keep trying, trying."

By the way, I don't know what is going on, but I'm feeling rather nauseated and fatigued as I'm typing, even though I've rested enough already.

My guess is that I got "masuk angin".
It literally means "wind enters" or "the wind entered", it's a phrase used by Indonesians when they feel several symptoms of a cold, but usually not to the extent of having one.
The symptoms include headache (often a vertigo, or having your eyesight swirl about even when you're lying down), nausea, fatigue, burping more frequenty than usual and sometimes um...releasing gas "in the other direction", like having too much gas (AKA "wind") inside.
They don't all have to be present at the same time, if you have two or more, it's considered that the wind entered you.

Usually one would drink medicine for this or go by the folk medical practice of "kerok" (something like the Chinese's Gua Sha), which is having your back rubbed in a certain pattern (apparently, the acupuncture meridians or so) with massage oil and a coin.
It feels like you're being massaged, only it hurts just a bit more.
It tickles, too. I can't get one without snickering at the beginning! XD

It looks painful since it will leave red marks on your skin for a few days, but it's not as bad as it seems.
People who aren't familiar with it might think it's marks from being abused, though it's FAR from it.
I once had it on my neck when my athsma was at its worst, and a friend of mine (an exchange student from Germany) thought someone wanted to kill me o_O

Obviously, that'll need a second person since it's done on the backside...which unfortunately I don't have around here (at least one that I feel close enough to do so)..

Well, off to buy me some "masuk angin" medicine and some cans of Pocari Sweat (vitamin/ionic supplement/sports drink) while I'm at it.

college, random
