Just called the Student Loans Company to check something... their hold music is "Sex Laws" by Beck!

Not that it's a bad song, just...well, not what you'd expect!!!!

When I was on hold the Student Loans Company played 'Ice Ice Baby' by Vanilla Ice at me. That was deeply weird.

I think their hold music is designed to appeal to students. Or maybe is just the music their IT guys listened to when they were students.

I last spoke to student loans nearly half a decade ago, their hold music was Hit Me Baby One More Time followed by White Zombie - Electric Head (pt 1)

I think they have some stupid option in their phone system allowing the callcentre staff to choose their own hold music.
