This is the way the world ends.

It started with a fight between two brothers. Two angels, always together, until somehow they found themselves on opposite sides. Hate overshadowed love as Michael let Hell swallow Lucifer whole.

Without forgiveness, Hate festers, until the poison overflows onto others.

Wow, this is ... epic and amazing and breathtaking and just.. wow. I love how you don't speculate which brother is gone, which survives, but mostly that the survivor is...alone, orphaned, a brother no longer. He is lost, no job for him to focus on, no purpose. He has nothing left. Mired in sorrow and loss and despair, he has nowhere to go.

My goodness .. that just broke me right in two.

You have written my worst fear, that for a truly mythological ending to the series one brother will have to die and the other live--both dying would be sad but heroic, neither dying would be my personal preference but not in keeping with the epicness Kripke is writing.

I really really don't want this kind of ending, just reading your few words has me crying...
