Investor help?

Hello kids. I'm trying to get some money invested in a Mutual Fund. Does anyone have some experience they can share with me? So far, I've only read some beginner's material about them. Can anyone point me in the right direction for someone starting out? (or maybe you've got an experience you'd be willing to share...)

Oh I uh... wait i don't know anything about that. But I have invested in a Money Market account for the first time. That was nifty. The APR is fixed, so that was good.. however, it wasn't very much.

That totally doesn't help you out, but I wanted to comment.

awww. thanks for the comment. all shared experience is good for me.... my ass is poor and it needs ALL the help it can get.

who did you end up getting an account with? i'm looking for a no-load fund with a low expense ratio. (plus, i'm trying to find a place that might waive a minimum amount to start-- oh yeah... i want it all, baby)
