So Penny Arcade has downgraded World of Warcraft from their top slot for the year. Tough break, I suppose. Not that they haven't screwed up enough to deserve such a thing.

When LiveJournal went down because they lost all power, I couldn't help but feel something for the people who have to restart all that stuff. Getting a hundred servers to work together has to be like trying to restart a nuclear reactor after an emergency shutdown. Not easy and not fun ( Read more... )

I wonder. Is Dan Brown, author of such things as Angels and Demons, really a good writer? I read that book and I swear I've read better fanfic. The narrative is awful. The plot is so absurd that Bruckheimer would have to tone it down.

A lot of people seem to love his books. Should I be scared?

Paul Greengrass has replaced Darren Aronofsky as director on The Watchmen movie. This is the guy who directed The Bourne Supremacy, a movie remarkable for its action scenes that were, for the most part, totally blurred out due to over-use use of the so-called 'shakeycam' technique. While trying to liberate the Earth from the Combine I ran up against a little obstacle. My buggy, you see, was upside down. I needed to get it right side up.

When I build structures like this it's obvious that I must've fallen asleep during the gravity gun training.
