Misfits

I haven't fallen this fast and this hard for a show since... well, Kimura Takuya's Pride. The ENTIRE first two series of this British drama is currently available online on the national broadcasting channel (YLE) and yesterday I marathoned all 10 episodes of the first.

Words cannot describe how surprisingly addictive it is. I had previously heard of ( Read more... )

Like I said, I did too! And if I wasn't REALLY bored Saturday afternoon (I was in that horrid state of restless waiting. I had no specific plans of my own because I was planning to spend the day with Sami, but he had to go out for a bit and I assumed he'd be quick but he ended up taking 4 hours), I probably would've never bothered. It was pretty much the only British drama I haven't at least previewed on the national network for free. The first episode was O.K. but didn't quite strike me "Oooh, I should see more! These characters are interesting!" It was only because, like I said above, I was still bored and waiting that I clicked on the second episode and THAT sealed the deal for me. Its basically the one where we really get introduced to Nathan ( ... )

I've not seen Misfits yet, but I do love British dramas about disaffected youth. :P See also: Skins. :D (Actually, that sentence works just as well as "I do love British dramas." Predictable Lil is predictable.)

LOL, I did see the first episode of Skins! The main character is pretty, but it didn't quite click with me for some reason (maybe all the focus on sex and drinking and stuff). Not that Misfits is THAT much different, but I guess it ultimately won me over because of the additional, often morbid paranormal factor. And I do so have a soft spot for a bit of paranormal. :p

I'll have to get around to watching it one of these days. I don't remember enough of Skins to remember there being excessive sex, but there probably was. :P I just remember falling in love with Cassie, she was so cute, like an emo Luna Lovegood.

I probably couldn't get into Skins without feeling REALLY OLDmy age and a bit uncomfortable that I was oggling so much nubile skin. I believe they were still going to school, too. It's not as uncomfortable with Misfits because the characters are still young enough to be called young offenders, but were definitely not in school anymore.
