name: Castiel.
sex: Male.
age: A millenia old angel occupying the body of a middle aged radio salesman from Pontiac, Illinois.
race: A being of celestial intent who's real form is roughly the size of the Chrysler building. A soldier of god. Or we can stop beating around the bush and call him a former angel of the Lord. When the rest of his brothers abandoned the earth his grace all but dwindled leaving him very mortal within his shell.
height: 6'0
weight: 195
canon point: 5x04 (The End)
previous cr: Nope. I want to play out here organically.

history: Thanks. Except I used to belong to a much better club. And now I'm powerless. I'm hapless, I'm hopeless, I mean, why the hell not bury myself in women and decadence? Right? It's the end, baby! That's what decadence is for. Why not bang a few gongs before the lights go out?

alternate history:
In the episode, “The End," and the specific canon point in which I’m taking him the apocalypse was not averted. Dean did not win and Sam said yes to Castiel’s brother, Lucifer. The world is in ruins, there’s no form of communication and the Croatoan plague has hit once again turning the human inhabitants of earth into blood thirsty and ravenous half demons. Castiel, in this episode is first displayed sitting in a group of women (his harem) explaining to them the opening and perceptive qualities to coitus, which is shown to be a load of crap when Dean steps inside and interrupts the detailed explanation to the girls sitting in a circle around him. He excuses them, tells them to go wash up, and moves to speak to Dean who he’s quick to realize isn’t the Dean that leads him but instead a Dean from the past (Zachariah has sent him into the future) it’s an immediate reaction, one that takes only a half second for Castiel to deliberate upon.

It’s quite obvious to both Dean and the viewers that Castiel is stoned and has developed a taste for prescription pills and anything else he can get his hands on, a crutch that is most likely asserted so that Castiel doesn’t have to deal with the full brunt of human emotions when he’d never been able to feel them entirely or understand them completely before hand. A lot of his mannerisms and perspective has remained the same but when Dean presses the subject Castiel tells him that life is what happened to him and later down the line explains that his grace was lost in the fight, along with many other things and people. He’s established Camp Chitaqua as a home but seems to treat it with more complacence and displacement than anything else.

The episode in and of itself is a story within a story and just before Zach can track Dean down and get him to say yes, and after his future self sends Cas and all his friends into a demon ridden trap, he watches himself die at the hands of Lucifer wearing his brother just to be pulled back into reality by Castiel and brought back into 2009 and taken away from 2014. There’s brief words swapped between them, a “Never change,” at the hands of Dean but Dean never goes on to explain it past that and the drug ridden sex enabled version of his friend is put to rest within his memory.

*** I’ll be picking up Castiel from the canon point of 2014, where things didn’t go as they did in the season finale (Swan Song) and the world really did decay and get worse. I’m secure in the way that I play this version of Cas and I’ve done a lot of canon read up to figure out all of his ticks and his mannerisms as well as how he behaves, so, hopefully that’s enough as I haven’t seen a Croatoan Cas played anywhere outside of one other time on another game.

personality: The quality in Castiel that stands out the most in his personality would have to be how passionate he is. He could be well considered the paragon of his kind. While the world crumbled around him he never gave up hope and he never abandoned his orders from his father. While his other brothers fueled themselves with doubt and prepared themselves for war Cas followed the guidelines that had been set down for him with unbridled attention and unwavering determination. He believed in his father’s word when no one else did; not even the people he was working with. He’s kept this trait for eight years and though it’s progressively been buried deeper and deeper inside of him it’s still there like a dull burning flame just waiting to be fed again when the moment or need should arise for it. Castiel is such an impassioned creature that he lost his wings and divinity for the sake of a fight that all of his other brothers had abandoned and stood beside Dean, even when he disagreed with what he was doing, in the faint hope that the perseverance of his faith and his devotion to it would pay off.

While in previous years before his lost grace you could pull one over on Cas by speaking in a lingo of pop culture or savvy subtlety he’s always been perceptive. He can tell and feel when something is wrong and it aches all the way through his vessel’s bones. He’s always been able to notice small differences, as if he’s looking at the whole of puzzle instead of the placement of the pieces. This attention to detail has never failed him and it’s only fueled his aforementioned passion because it puts him ahead of his game and individualizes him from those that let fear or any other emotions cloud their judgment. At times the angel may act as if he’s unaware of what’s going on because he doesn’t want to be involved but he’s usually got one up on everyone else when it comes to understanding the severity of something or plucking the needle out of the haystack. Whether or not he speaks out about these conclusions is something else entirely.

Something that’s never died in the former angel is his will to carry on. Even in the slum of what he lives like now he hasn’t let his spark die. He’s continued on, carried on, and kept fighting. Through breaking his foot and for the first time feeling pain and being helpless and to the bitter end he will always keep fighting, keep struggling, and mow through what’s trying to stop him. In defense of his weaker qualities it’s this will power that keeps him afloat. The need to remain conscious and involved in everything and never let anything or anyone ruin him. If you asked him if he was at rock bottom he’d openly answer yes but he won’t let it beat him and he keeps himself active and driven despite that.

He’s loyal. He’s followed Dean and his father’s plan to the end of the earth and then some and despite it carrying him to the worst state he’s ever been in, he continues to follow its line because loyalty is what he knows. Loyalty to his father, loyalty to Dean and his friendships, and loyalty to his own faith. Even when the worst beats out the better Cas will always be loyal to the people that have stood beside him and the causes he’s driven by. They could spit in his face and stop him in his tracks but the loyalty will still always remain and even if he has to explain himself a thousand times over he will in defense of it because he knows it’s what is right.

Castiel’s not perfect though, his shining qualities don’t have a lot on the fortress he’s built himself into so people can’t truly see how everything and the state of the world is affecting him. He doubts. He doubts his father, his faith, Dean, and the camp and he keeps this tucked away inside so he doesn’t have to mention it nor discuss it. He’s inwardly very insecure, things do hurt him and bruise his once prideful ego and humanity has humbled him like nothing ever could. He feels anguish for these thoughts, he still considers them sinful. Not knowing if his father is truly there, being aware that he’s the same entity that let the world get this far crushes the once angel’s spirit and while he doesn’t reflect on the thoughts or feelings often and he tries to ignore them the doubt and insecurity still remains like a bullet in his chest and an empty swelling in his stomach.

He’s an addict. Whether it be to food, coitus, or drugs Castiel abuses things in quantity. It’s a way to take his mind off of what’s going on around him and to dumb down his more negative feelings. He’d rather feel nothing at all than pain and he tries to feed these addictions with whatever he can find. Whether it be pain killers, ganja, or alcohol he’s going to be seen frequently taking them in excess to remove himself from the guilt and the trepidation and keep himself limber upright and strong. He seems to have built an immense tolerance to it all and can remain active despite being inebriated or intoxicated; he just prefers it over feeling the full brunt of what’s going on around him.

You can’t completely kill an angel with time and one of the key qualities that has remained in Cas is his almost child like sprightliness and innocence. There’s a lot he still doesn’t understand and though he’s seen his fair share of death, some by his own hands, he’s managed to retained the delighted laughter and innate curiosity that a child would have. He’s high spirited, he enjoys having fun, and even amidst all the sarcasm and cynicism he throws around he does like to smile and does enjoy preserving the things that he finds beautiful. He’s behind his game when it comes to humanity, and still looks at the world through youth goggles. He still appreciates the things most adults have long since started ignoring and if you’re offering a good time he’s over eager to take you up on that deal. Castiel a hot mess, and a jumble of negative and more shining qualities but the strongest of them all is this. He’s always smiling and tries to laugh more than he frowns.

Castiel up until losing his grace and being abandoned by his brothers was a virgin. it was a series of unfortunate events that lead him to the liberation of sex and while he's innately heterosexual he's very open about sex and would host orgies at Chitaqua and swoon the women there to use copulation as an escape mechanism. He's incredibly sexually inclined and honest and open about it when it comes to that. Outside of drawing out explanations for how opening the experience can be he likes to get straight to the point.

**KEEP IN MIND: AU characters should still be distinctly identifiable as the canon they are an AU of. Some things may have changed, but the character should still act like themself.**

^^^ That is beautiful. Thank you so much for saying it.

abilities/powers: Outside of a keen sense of intuition all holy and preternatural abilities have left Castiel.

first person sample: {WRITTEN ENTRY}

I'm in the middle of a relative dystopic death trap and then given reprieve to come to Upendi? Yeah, it's intriguing, but even I'm not convinced my father is behind this one. For one, my rebellion. I'm not of able body, apt mind, or pure spirit anymore. I left that behind me when my brothers left me behind them. It was a skip, hop, step into a very tangible earth bound peridition that's end result is this persona. Despite the residual feelings of displacement.... it's nice to see a city that isn't a burnt out disfigured puss bludgeon. I could be wrong- maybe the garrison was given over to Gabriel and it really is all 72 virgins, 200 orgasms, but I prefer to think of this as karmic retribution. After my last display on rural terrain this is benediction. I could only be so fortunate. Lucifer wouldn't waste his time spoon fooding me delusions, and I don't think being a Croat is this nice.

third person sample:
Guns blazed like an inferno waiting to suck them all in, swallow them whole, and spit them back out as different people. Gun shells were bouncing off of the opulent hotel’s walls and the only thing Cas could think about was Dean squaring away with Lucifer, that his charged was unprotected and that none of them were going to escape the theatrics of this war; not anymore. His gun was clutched tight to his chest, his heart hammering so hard against his rib cage he was sure the rhythmic beat would match the screams of his men.

He could feel the warmth radiating around all of them, he could see the people ahead of him being slaughtered. Years in the garrison had prepared him for this, but he didn’t feel ready enough. As willing as he’d been to die for Dean’s plight facing a sea of irrefutable monsters didn’t look as glamorous as they once had. Not with his grace tarnished, and not with the option of going home stolen from him. He’d either live long enough to become one of the monsters, or cease to exist. He’d become reasonably attached to those things. His life, his separation from Anglicism into something more profane; he just wasn’t ready to put his own aspirations to rest. Things that he’d promised himself long before rescuing his once righteous man.

It was an accidental shot from one of his group that pierced the flesh of his shoulder and leered him toward the wall, he fell back against it and crawled out of sight, bleeding. He knew he’d be found, exchanged for something else or turned into some lesser being but for now he needed meditation. He needed a place in his mind that was far away from the deranged blood laden battle laid out like a picnic cloth in front of him.

case no: I'll leave this up to you guys. Becuase anything I could pick would be silly and/or dull. I'm numerically challenged.
