Chapter 16: If it's raining, then this must be Tuesday.

I'm writing here because today has been the most uneventful day of a terribly uneventful week at work. I had several "projects" to work on, but none of them required much time or effort, and I generally found myself staring for hours at comicbook webpages until I could no longer discern "real life" from the world of superheroes and space aliens. Karl, only you could slide from comics to current events to bees.

If there's a transdimensional crisis and infinite earths crash together, I better get some superpowers.

You probably already have superpowers, Brad. It's just taking them some time to develop. In a few years, who knows? Maybe everyone will be talking about Superbrad or... I don't know... BattlePope

If you're living in a comic book world, what's your superpower?

I admit, it does feel like there ought to be some huge climax/crisis, but unfortunately we're probably just heading toward an awful let-down.

That's the sad thing... apparantly I've been denied the role of the superhero and been reduced to a secondary character... probably one of the supervillian's victims.

Unless, of course, I'm someone like Bruce Wayne's dad. Then I'd be nothing more than a source of guilt and inspiration to drive the superhero into the night seeking vengence for my death. That'd actually be pretty neat.

Either way, no superpowers for me.

I'm suprised to hear so few bees have plagued you in the honey house. Does it seem like another record year? I was reading in some simplified living magazine at Barnes and Noble today about reusing kitchen appliances for every day needs (this particular example was a pasta maker as a paper shreder) and was contemplating all of the fun things you could to with a heated knife.

Either way, war is inevitable, invest in gold... Good words to live by. War is inevitable, avoid alliances with the Germans... even better.

Maybe this should be my new motto: War is inevitable, avoid alliances with the Germans and stay out of Asia.

The nice thing about a heated knife is that when you cut yourself, the wound is instantly cauterized. I know that from experience...
