If you've any interest in seein this film, and you are near a digital theatre that has it in 3.D, see it that way. It truly is a unique and breath-taking experience. The movie is finally written a directed, i smell best adapted screenplay nomination. Do they take liberties with the story? of course. There is an entirely made up sense of paternity

we express a bit of surprise that it was pg-13 also, given the horror of some of the violence more than anything (the infamous nude scenes with angelina aren't even nude really...just barbie doll style genitalia). i really think, right or wrong, that since it was animated, it got the lower rating.
there's a lot to think about in the film, and i think i will see it again to ponder some of the changes from the poem. I just read the seamus heaney translation this past spring so it was interesting to see in what direction and tone the took some of the characters.

I was SO impressed with the animation, holy shit. The closeups of people's faces had PORES!! jesus christ. So very impressive. And yes, the dragon was amazing.
