from what i remember of vacationing in lake placid NY, somewhat close to the border as it was...their quarters are a LOT closer to ours than their nickels and dimes are. so my guess is they're much more likely to slip through the cracks and get into circulation.
dimes are fairly similar but yes i see your point. however, the edges of their pennies are quite different than ours yet the penny may the most prolific of the border crossers. i attribute that to sheer numbers.
though the possibility is there, i'd say it's unlikely simply because minuscule observations such as this are my bread and butter. It's something I've been thinking about/aware of since HS so, I'd think my "nickle" sense is heightened. lol
however, nickelback is from canada and if the real deal is anything like their namesakes, i want nothing to do with them anyway.
lol. I just wondered because it seems that I do see a fair number of Canadian dimes - about equal to how many quarters I see. Not too many nickels though. But I think the dimes and nickels are harder to notice- I usually have them longer before I do notice whereas I notice quarters and pennies right away.

dimes are (or were) lighter-weight to the point of feeling very different even to little-kid me. i remember liking the sailboats on them.
