Augmented Reality in daily life

So yesterday we had elections. I'll spare you the details, but at the end of the day they had an exit poll with a prediction of the seats for each political party (gosh this is a pain to explain in English). So instead of the usual graphs on a screen they used Augmented Reality!

They utterly failed with the numbers on the first try:

That's pretty cool! I didn't even stop to think it was AR, but of course it is. Good to see it being used in mainstream media.

Subtle AR is where the future is in my opinion. It's part of the whole 'mixed reality' mantra, where it's supposed to enhance the context, rather than replace it entirely (as VR tends to do). I could go on and on about this, but I'll save that for my research paper :p
