Yeah, das right, bitch! I hate that saying, "Those who can't do, teach." What totally ignorant bullshit! I don't teach because I failed in some other professional environment and had to "settle" with teaching -- I teach because I want to teach, and I'm well-qualified to do so. It seems that most people don't realize that you have to get certified, and that it takes a lot of education and WORK to get certified, to perform certain jobs. I guess a lot of people probably don't know because they don't know anyone who has trained to be one. Or maybe the job just *seems* easy because people have no idea what paramedics really do -- I bet people think, oh, how hard is it just to give CPR all the time? Just like most people look at teachers and think, oh, how hard is it to assign homework all the time? Psh, like it's as simple as that! It's pretty unfortunate because I have a lot of respect for what you guys do...Amazing!

Right. I always thought about how cool it would be to assign homework instead of do it. Then I read about your amount of school and the bullshit you put up with from parents, and it gives me a glimpse (not a true feeling or idea, however) into what a teacher goes through. All I have to do is write a rather simple paper.

I couldn't do your job. In my job, I don't have to tolerate bitchy parents. In my job, if someone doesn't want my help (yeah, I know, they called me, yet they still want me to NOT help them...) fine, I tell them that they will likely call me again in 20 minutes because they will be in a worse state, but in the mean time, just sign here. If I think they really need to go, that's fine too, because a cop can place them under a hold and force 'em to go in.

I think we've both got interesting jobs. They're a lot alike. Nowadays, your job can also have gunshot wounds!
