Character name: M'gann M'orzz (Megan Morse) / Miss Martian
Fandom: Young Justice
Timeline: After episode 9
Age: 48 in human years, but 16 in Martian years
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
As a Martian, M'gann has many abilities that humans don't possess! A lot of her power comes in the form of psychic abilities: she is skilled with flight, telekinesis, and telepathy. She can change her appearance at will; though it's mostly limited to her clothes or camouflaging herself to make it seem like she's invisible, she can also take on the entire appearance of another person. However, she's not fully experienced in the field; she finds it hard to mimic males, thus turning into... pretty much a female version of said boy when she tries. Lastly, she has a mental link to her Bio-ship, the team's primary method of transportation. The ship responds to her mental commands, and reacts in the same way as her clothing; as it is also organic, it can also camouflage itself, rendering it and the people inside it more or less invisible.
How would they use their abilities?:
M'gann's powers are... pretty much part of her general, everyday life! She does, however, try to limit her use of telepathy, as she's told it's a great invasion of privacy among Earthlings, a fact she wasn't aware of. Iiif the situation comes up, though, she'll definitely use them to fight the good fight. It's only natural for a member of a crime-fighting team, after all!
Appearance:
M'gann is a young Martian girl, being the biological equivalent to a human sixteen-year-old. She has green skin and shoulder-length auburn hair. Her clothing is organic, which means she can change it at will-her main outfit consists of a white shirt with a red X on her chest, a blue cape, blue gloves, and a blue skirt; when on covert missions, she wears a black version of the previous outfit; and her preferred civilian outfit is a white undershirt, pink blouse and skirt, and kneehigh socks.
It's said in her
data bio, though, that she "hides [her] true appearance." What she really looks like at the moment is unknown, though.
Background:
About seven years before the Young Justice timeline begins, a group of superheroes banded together to create the Justice League, an organization of heroes dedicated to protecting the Earth and its people. Fast-forward to July 4th, seven years after the formation of the Justice League. Four of the League's members' sidekicks are brought to the Hall of Justice, the Justice League's public headquarters, to officially induct them into the League. These four are Robin, sidekick of Batman; Aqualad, pupil of Aquaman; Kid Flash, Flash; and Speedy, Green Arrow's partner. Though the former three decide to hang around, Speedy storms out of the Hall, thinking that the adult heroes don't trust them and still think of them as children.
The three remaining sidekicks are around to hear Superman get an alert that there is a fire at the Cadmus Labs, and that a villain is trying to block out the sun. While the Justice League focuses on the latter, as it's a more imminent threat, the sidekicks decide to take it upon themselves to investigate the fire and prove to the League that they're heroes in their own right.
At the lab, the three discover Superboy, a sixteen-week-old clone of Superman who had been raised in a test tube. Though Superboy is at first hostile toward the team, the three sidekicks offer to lead him to freedom, as he had never seen the outside world before. Though there are many trials that face them-including Superboy getting mind controlled to turn against the other three-the four are able to escape from the labs and return (relatively) safely. After the "mission," Batman allows the five to stay together as a covert ops team for the Justice League, which elicits a positive reaction from the boys... but wait, there's only four of them! "Who's the fifth?" they wonder. Enter Miss Martian, the niece of Martian Manhunter, one of the seven founding members of the League. She quickly warms up to the group as she's introduced to them, though she's still somewhat shy around them, having just arrived on Earth. She shows an immediate interest in Superboy, who she ends up living with in Mount Justice, which becomes the team's headquarters.
In the team's early days, M'gann... makes a less than favorable impression on them! She makes the mistake of communicating telepathically with the rest of the team, without realizing it's considered a violation of privacy on Earth. Superboy gets especially mad at her, having an aversion to telepathy after what he had gone through in the Cadmus Labs. She further makes herself looked down upon when she makes a mistake in relaying info to the team in the fight against Mister Twister, a wind-based villain; she mistakenly tells the team it's Red Tornado, one of the team's mentors. Superboy again accuses her of misguiding the team in a rage, and he and the rest of the team leaves her behind to pursue the villain as she contacts Red Tornado in order to ask for help. She manages to redeem herself in the team's eyes, though, by concocting a plan; she disguises herself as Red Tornado and meets up with the team, tricking the villain into thinking she's the actual Red Tornado. Using this deception, the team is able to work together to gain the upper hand and defeat the villain; M'gann is then successfully recognized as a true member of the team... and gets an awkward apology from Superboy, awwwww.
The next couple of months are filled with many crime-fighting shenanigans, including: breaking up a potential drug war; destroying an android that was pretty much Kirby except less adorable and more able to kill you using the powers of all the Justice League members combined; foiling a super bio-virus; and defeating a crazy witch boy with the most annoying voice ever holy shit. The team also gains a member in the form of Artemis, who doesn't have any powers but is pretty goddamn good with a bow and arrow. Though she and M'gann initially get off to a... less than amazing start, the two girls immediately bond, because fuck yeah girl power in an otherwise sausagefest of a team.
Fast-forward to September 4th-M'gann finds herself alone in the middle of a desert, with no memories from the previous six months. Suddenly, she's attacked by an almost feral Superboy; as he didn't exist six months prior, he's more or less a mindless superweapon. He flees before doing any sort of lasting damage, leaving M'gann alone and scared. After recovering from this encounter, she explores a little bit then stops and meditates in an attempt to remember what happened to her; she manages to remember that she's part of a team, and quickly flies off again in an attempt to locate her teammates. Eventually she comes into contact with Wally and Artemis, who had just been attacked by Superboy... who had been captured by dudes with tanks. Yyyeah we'll get back to that. Anyway, after traversing the desert scene for a little while longer, they find Robin! After filling the rest of the team in on what she can remember, M'gann forms a mental link between the four. Using their collective minds, the four are able to recover their memories... and realize Aqualad is still missing. They're able to locate their unconscious leader, but M'gann is unable to restore his memories; instead, she goes off to find Superboy, having felt that he is in pain.
She eventually finds Superboy being tortured by a villain named Psimon; Psimon reveals that he is the one who erased the team's memories, and engages in psychic combat with him. Superboy is freed by a sentient sphere-like object (...creatively named "Sphere," for future reference), and is able to come into contact with M'gann within her mind. She then restores his memories, and with his help, successfully defeats Psimon. The two end up sharing a... rather tender moment, but before anything can happen between them, they're interrupted by Sphere because the writers are total shipteasers goddamn it. The two then reunite with the rest of the team, and with their memories fully restored, the six are able to go back to their normal, world-saving lives.
Personality:
M'gann is a very kind and friendly girl! She always means well in her intentions, but due to her general awkwardness and cluelessness when it comes to Earth customs, things... don't always turn out well for her. Thanks to this, she can sometimes come off as naive, or sometimes even insensitive. She always tries to make up for it, though; she never means to offend anyone with her actions.
She can also seem ditzy and scatterbrained at times; when this happens, she usually utters, "Hello, Megan!" Originally taken from an Earth show she watched while on Mars, she says this whenever she realizes something that she previously overlooked. In spite of this, though, she's definitely not stupid. Throughout the series, she displays the ability to formulate plans and make strategic decisions on the fly.
Despite how outgoing she can (and tries to) be, M'gann still has a tendency to be a little shy around other people. Most of this stems from how she's considered to be an "outsider;" even within the team, she's the sole alien (...well, technically Superboy is the clone of an alien, but no one would really be able to tell otherwise), and the only girl until Artemis joins. Visiting Earth had been one of her biggest dreams prior to the series's start, and all she really wants is to just to be accepted by other people.
All in all, M'gann shares a close connection to her friends-both figuratively and literally, as she's in charge of maintaining communication between the team with her telepathy. She can be overprotective of them, as shown when she reprimands Artemis All she wants is to be a normal girl (or, well, as normal as a Martian can get), and be able to make friends and live in harmony harmony oh love with Superboy all of them.
Have you read up on how the game works?: The Guide plug-in is the FlamingFerret! People get money by completing missions, doing freelance work, and mooching off people.

Huh... according to this book, that red light means it's recording, but why doesn't anything seem to be happening...? Did I get a defective Guide? Hmm...
[there's a moment of silence from the female voice, the only other sounds being the pages of a book being flipped. eventually, a soft smack is heard.]
Hello, Megan! It's set to audio-only! No wonder I can't see anything. Silly me. Now all I need to do is press a few buttons, aaand...
[with a couple of clicks, the feed comes on to show a young, freckled, green-skinned girl, who's smiling at the camera.]
There we go! Whew, I'm glad I solved that pretty easily. Anyway, hello, residents of the Thor! My name's M'gann-I know that's kind of weird, but you can call me Megan if you want, since that's my Earth name! ... But I guess that doesn't matter too much since we're not on Earth anymore, huh?
[she laughs weakly as her expression turns into a sort of somber one. that... probably wasn't the best thing to say in a place where everyone had lost their worlds, huh? but, well, rather than staying a downer, she's clearing her throat and cheering back up quick enough.]
Well, I guess as long as we're all here, we may as well try to get along, right? No use being sad about it. -Oh! I'm also sort of curious about my friends. If they are here, I'm sure they've made themselves known by now-their names are Robin, Kaldur, Wally, Superboy, and Artemis. If you've seen any of them, could you tell them I'm here? Thanks!
3rd person sample:
A slightly morose Martian was making her way down one of the many hallways of the Thor, just wandering around in the shopping area-walking rather than flying, as she realized people tended to stare more when she was airborne. It was bad enough that her green skin seemed to be garnering more shifty looks than usual; she didn't need any more unwanted attention than she was already getting.
Even though the Thor was a spaceship, of all places, M'gann still felt... a little out of place, like she did when she had first arrived on Earth. Though a lot of the other residents were aliens of many different species, so many of her fellow refugees were Earthlings-or at least humans. She thought she was finally getting used to life on a new, unfamiliar world, but now, it was like she was starting all over... again. And this time, she didn't have any of the friends she had worked so hard to make.
"Hello, Megan!" she suddenly exclaimed as she touched a hand to her forehead. Her lips curling up into a smile as people in her immediate surroundings jumped and stared a bit; but she didn't care about the stares anymore. "You may be the only Martian around here, but you're definitely not the only refugee. Stop being so harsh on yourself! Besides, if you're here, there's still a chance everyone else will show up. There's those... wormhole things and everything, after all!"
"I wonder if I should get some ingredients to make cookies," she then wondered, finger resting thoughtfully on her chin. She consulted her Guide in an attempt to locate a map of the area. She intentionally kept these musings in her head and projected them, in case any of her teammates were on the ship already. After all... it was worth a try, wasn't it? She didn't know why she didn't consider that before! Upon realizing this, she almost said her catchphrase again, but then she realized... that was probably overdoing it, huh? "I may as well practice for when the rest of the team gets here. No more burnt disasters from Megan, no way, no how! This'll be a cookie aster, for sure!"
