in which Kibum has been away for too long.
Minho is at the arrival hall of Incheon airport but it feels like he is standing at his wedding altar, waiting for his groom to arrive. He can hear his heartbeat in his ears, feel his palms get sweaty, his mouth turn dry and every muscle of his body tense as he tries to look as calm and collected as can be. Who would have thought one could be this nervous waiting at the arrival hall? Well, Minho certainly doesn’t expect himself to be a ball of nerves but he decides he has a legitimate reason to be.
As the automatic sliding doors open and a new crowd of passengers step into the arrival hall, Minho keeps a look out for that one person he has been missing for the past 5 days. That’s right, it hasn’t even been a week since Kibum left for a holiday with his friends but, to Minho, it feels like an eternity. He really shouldn’t have allowed his boyfriend to fly off and leave him all alone in Seoul with nothing to do except count down to the day of his return.
It’s actually rather surprising how Minho ends up like a needy, clingy boyfriend since they’ve long past the honeymoon phase of their relationship. Kibum doesn’t know how much Minho misses him though since Minho makes it a point to keep his emotions in check whenever he talks to Kibum over the phone, be it through skype calls or text messages. The last thing Minho wants is to be a nuisance to Kibum and ruin his holiday, or actually, let Kibum know he can’t seem to function properly without him by his side; Because then, he would give his boyfriend the chance to tease him for life. But indeed, it has been a torturous five days for Minho. And now that he’s finally at the airport with the confirmation that Kibum’s flight has landed, Minho is undeniably excited to finally have his boyfriend back right where he belongs.
Minho’s height has never come as a better advantage than right now as he searches for Kibum in the busy arrival hall. It has been twenty minutes since his flight has landed and Minho is expecting Kibum to appear some time very soon. However, there is no sight of Kibum among the passengers that exit the restricted area. Frowning, Minho fiddles with his phone and glances at the screen, wondering if Kibum has contacted him since he’s already back in Korea and has most probably left the airplane. There are no notifications though. Both nervous and impatient, Minho decides to give Kibum a call.
Holding his phone to his ear as the call gets connected, Minho quickly looks up towards the sliding doors to make sure he doesn’t miss Kibum (or Kibum doesn’t miss him) if he is to enter Arrivals at that moment in time. The dial tone goes on forever and it is only until it reaches Kibum’s voicemail that Minho is left with no choice but to end the call. Well, at least he’s sure Kibum is safely in Korea since his phone is already on.
Minho is just about to try calling Kibum again when his vision suddenly goes black. It takes Minho a few seconds to register that there’s a pair of hands covering his eyes. In the next moment, a smile grows on his face as he reaches up to hold the pair of hands and tries to pull them away from his face. Of course, he already knows who they belong to.
“Kibum ah…” Minho laughs, pleasantly surprised by his boyfriend who has apparently appeared out of thin air, “It’s you, isn’t it?”
Minho first hears an indignant huff from behind him before he regains his vision as the pair of hands slip out of his own. He then turns around to find the very person he has been waiting for looking very much annoyed at him.
“Not fair.” Kibum grumbles, “I waited this long to surprise you and this is all I’m getting?”
“You waited long?” Minho asks, puzzled but also amused as his smile grows wider, “Where were you? How come I didn’t see you?”
“I came back on an earlier flight... wanted to surprise you.” Kibum ends off in a mumble, visibly disappointed that his surprise hasn’t turned out the way he wants it to.
As he hears Kibum’s reply, Minho is doing everything he can not to fall into cliché and lift Kibum off his feet so he can turn him round and round. Instead, he takes Kibum’s hand with one hand, his luggage with the other, and leads his boyfriend towards the lifts to the car park. Kibum naturally walks beside him, not even bothering to let go of Minho’s hand (which he would in normal circumstances since they’re still in the public eye) after all the time apart. Obviously, Kibum has missed Minho more than he would like to admit.
It’s quiet around them as they wait for the lift, and it remains comfortably silent between them when they enter the lift, alone by themselves, and Minho presses the button to the lowest floor. However, as soon as the lift door closes, Minho turns towards Kibum, circles an arm around his waist and swiftly pulls him so close that their bodies are perfectly aligned to each other.
“Missed you so ғυϲƙing much,” Minho mutters against Kibum’s lips before he kisses him fully, softly at first but only for a brief moment as he then kisses him deeply, enticing Kibum to open his mouth because there’s no way in hell Minho is going to take this slow after being apart for a period too long.
Kibum can barely keep up with Minho but he’s enjoying every second of the kiss. Their kiss is hot, passionate, dirty and Kibum loves everything about it, especially how it shows exactly how much Minho has missed him too. Smirking, Kibum backs Minho against the side of the elevator and in the process, accidentally knocks his luggage over. That doesn’t stop them from kissing though. They’re far from being bothered as Kibum wraps his arms around Minho’s neck, licks into his lover’s mouth before sucking on his bottom lip.
When Minho holds him tighter, Kibum smiles teasingly and pulls back just enough to say, “I can tell.”
“Admit it, you missed me too.” Minho says first before he steals a kiss from Kibum.
As his answer, Kibum leans in to kiss Minho but just as their lips are about to meet, Kibum pats Minho on his chest before he pushes himself away.
“That’s enough… for now.” Kibum winks as he moves to pick his luggage up.
Minho groans and is about to catch hold of Kibum’s arm when the lift doors suddenly open to an empty lobby.
“Let’s go.” Kibum smiles and begins walking out of the lift.
Minho doesn’t follow behind, reaching out instead to pull Kibum back into the lift as he says, “Not this floor, Kibum.”
“What?” Kibum is clearly confused when he turns back and looks at Minho.
“Actually…” Minho begins, reaching past Kibum to press the button to another floor and then the door-close button, before he reveals, “My car is parked at Basement 2.”
With the lift door closing once again, Kibum can only blink as Minho points to his lips and smiles, “What are you waiting for?”
When Kibum happily closes the distance between them once more, both Minho and Kibum himself know that even If they do manage to step out of the lift and get into Minho’s car, they most definitely will not leave the car park any time soon.
