When Losing isn't an Option; Minho/Key

It could be the smallest things that lead to the biggest arguments which could break Minho and Kibum up but eventually, amor vincit omnia. Love conquers all.

Author's Note: okay, i had to get this out of my system. it's practically word vomit and i had to spend ages to add in punctuations just so it'll be somewhat coherent for you lovely people to read. it's short, drabblish, but i still hope it's worth the read. i don't know why my mind kept thinking about how things will be if Minho and Key got into a huge fight so poof, this came about. the title is crap, i know. ignore that. anyway. one paragraph into the story, i had Battlefield by Jordin Sparks on repeat so you might see how heavily influenced i was by that. anyway, enough of me talking, enjoy the drabble ahead! ^^

Minho was so angry that he could wreck his entire living room (where he was currently confined to) and maybe after he was done with that, he would turn the rest of the apartment that he had access to upside down. Angry probably wasn’t even the best word to describe what he was feeling now. It wasn’t even enough to fully capture his true emotions. He wasn’t only angry, he was confused, he was troubled, he was pissed off, he was in utter misery. Well, at least he wasn’t alone… Considering the sounds that came from the room where the door was tightly shut and locked, Kibum was in fact even one step ahead of him by wrecking their room first.

Minho fell onto the couch like a defeated soldier who was shot down in the battlefield. How they ended up this way, he had honestly no clue. Well, it wasn’t important anymore, wasn’t it? What mattered was that World War III had erupted between Choi Minho and Kim Kibum and the effects were devastating. They were both left severely damaged with hurtful words that were exchanged in the fit of the moment and bruises that were visibly forming (in Minho’s case) because Kibum was so mad he didn’t hold back his punches. Yet, it seemed like this war wasn’t going to end anytime soon. It didn’t help at all that they both were terribly stubborn in their own ways and of course, that meant it would be the toughest challenge for any one of them to swallow their pride and admit defeat.

At that thought, Minho curled his fists by his side and punched the cushioned seat with all his might until the throw pillows that Kibum had took forever to choose when they went furniture shopping to make their apartment more homely bounced off the sofa and fell onto the floor. It was instinct for Minho to bend down and pick them all up to place them back in their proper positions because Kibum was particular about stuff like this (and he would have another reason to be angry with Minho if he saw his precious pillows on the ground). And at that moment, as Minho stared at his hands and then at the pillows that were back safely on the couch, he realized how much Kibum had impacted his life… how much Kibum had changed him, in more ways for the better than for the worst. Call him crazy, stupid or whatever for actually being happy that he had Kibum to condition him in the littlest ways of life (which Minho had never noticed right until now), but suddenly, Minho did not want to lose what they had at all. Heck, just thinking about how this war between them might just end up with Kibum walking out on him was enough to terrify him. The next thing he knew, Minho was storming his way towards their room, determined as can be to end this ridiculous battle. He was all ready to knock relentlessly on the door when his fist ended up punching air and falling very awkwardly back to his side because the door had opened at that exact moment.

No words were exchanged between Minho and Kibum, and they both stood where they were like statues; but as their eyes met, all defenses crumbled into nothing. Minho let out a huge breath and ran his fingers through his hair as Kibum bit hard on his lips and had his hands stuffed stiffly into his pockets. And it was then Minho could tell Kibum never wanted to hurt him too, and he didn’t want them to lose what they had as well.

“Kibum.” Minho had simply said before he couldn’t resist closing the distance between them and wrapping his arms around his boyfriend (who looked too vulnerable for his own good) in a hug that meant so much more and expressed all unspoken words like ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I love you’.

Sighing, Kibum put his whole weight onto Minho, leaning into his familiar warmth, and rested his forehead onto Minho’s shoulder with his arms securely around his lover’s waist.

“This is stupid.” Kibum muttered into Minho’s shirt. "I don't even know why that happened."

“I know, I wasn’t thinking, and I’m sorry Kibum.” Minho tightened his hug around his boyfriend and breathed in his unique scent. “You know how dumb I can be, I just… please… please don’t leave me.”

At the sound of Minho’s voice, Kibum finally looked up and straight into his eyes. “I should be the one saying that because there probably isn’t anyone else in the world who can put up with me and my bitch fits... it’s a wonder how you stayed with me for so long.”

“I love you, Kibum.” Minho caught Kibum’s lips in what was supposed to be a single light kiss but ended up in a heated kiss that had both of them breathless when they finally broke apart.

“Even if you frustrate the hell out of me, I love you too.” Speaking against Minho’s lips, Kibum smiled teasingly as his hands crept under Minho’s shirt, pushing the fabric up at the same time. “So shall we fast-forward this whole forgive-and-forget business, and skip to the part where we have raunchy make up sex?”

Minho smiled in return as he allowed Kibum to take his shirt off for him, “You see, I knew I got together with you for a reason.”

“Hey!” Kibum slapped Minho on his bare chest and narrowed his eyes. “Watch it, we just got out of an argument...”

Letting out a chuckle, Minho caught hold of Kibum’s hand and brought it to his lips while his other arm held Kibum close to his body. “Love you, baby.”

Kibum sighed as he closed his eyes and allowed Minho to do unmentionable things to him and his body. Let's just say, they were in for a long night... not just because of the make-up sex but also because, Minho noted while pushing Kibum's boxers off, the room was indeed a wreck and there was much cleaning up to do.
