Hmm, one of my colleagues commented to me today, "No wonder you want to be a teacher, look at how much they get paid". I pretty much grimaced and told her to eff off. Yeah, for a graduate with a post grad qual who works 10 to 12 hours days, teachers are just rolling in it, I mean have you seen all those teachers in Mercedes etc. And yeah kids are such little angels and everybody knows that there is no paperwork, no lesson prep, marking or trying to force kids to do their work so they can get the school up the league tables.
I can honestly say that I'm not attracted to teaching for the salary or for the hours as I know enough teachers to realise that the salary is not a lot when you break down exactly what teachers do.
