So sometimes it’s a problem that I am first and foremost a geek and that my primary defense/coping mechanism is humor. The trouble is that when things like the shooting at the Batman premiere happens I have no ‘appropriate’ responses. Everything I have to say sounds callous or shallow out loud

If Tim Burton didn't ruin Batman for people nothing can. I can, however, imagine Chris Bale having a meltdown over this. He's just that self-absorbed.

I don't think it will ruin batman for everyone, but if I were in that theatre I'm not sure I could ever watch batman again.

I am astounded how much death and damage he was able inflict so fast.

I'm astounded he got in there with a shotgun. Seriously, nobody noticed anything? You'd think that amount of weaponry would be noticeable. I'm never complaining about venue restrictions on fake weaponry again.
