My parents are getting older, and I've been looking to see how much I can do for them at a remove to supplement the times I am able to help them in person. Last year after Thanksgiving, I found a device for my Mom to help her get in and out of the car more easily as she was having trouble swinging her legs in and out. It's basically a padded swivel

and find it very easy to use. I use it for ankle socks, knee socks and tights. It's made my life immeasurably easier!

Some of the comments I read about similar devices complained about it not holding the sock well. Did you have any issues with that?

I haven't! There's a circle of rubber that holds the sock in place, but doesn't interfere with getting the sock on the aid. Though everyone's different. I know people who've tried a few different models until they found one they liked. Luckily, they're not hundreds of dollars!
