Okay, so, just regular old fiction. No fan fics here. But if you think you might be interested in reading this or even just bouncing ideas around, hit me up, plllllease. :)
Quick basics here. Savannah is the main character, she has a near-two-year old named Cheyenne and (guys names are a work in progress so they may change) but Jackson is the baby's father and her kind-of fiancee'. Rylan is their new neighbor who Savannah is starting to fall for. Rylan feels the same way-which obviously creates problems for Savannah. Especially since Rylan and Jackson are friends.
“You’re so full of shit,” Savannah swore, digging her fingers into her thighs to keep from lashing out at Rylan. “You keep talking about how afraid I am, how I can’t just be honest about what I want-about who I want, but have you even considered where I’m coming from? The kind of position you’ve put me in?
“I have a daughter,” She went on, seeing Rylan‘s lips purse tighter. “Jackson is the father of that daughter. You do remember Jackson don't you? Your friend. Are you honestly telling me you want that? You want a little girl in your life, who isn’t yours? Who will always be tied to Jackson?"
Savannah snorted and rolled her eyes. “You can’t, can you? Because you don’t want that. You want a meaningless fling before you go back home-do you even care how many lives you’re ruining in the process? For something that doesn’t mean anything? For 2 months worth of nothing?”
Two months and Rylan would be back in Texas. He'd be done with whatever this little adventure was, this "finding himself" shit, and Savannah would be here, picking up the mess he left behind. It was so neat and easy for him. In, out. Everyone else got hurt, but not Rylan. Rylan walked away clean.
“Stop calling it nothing,” Rylan yelled, his fist colliding with the wall next to Savannah’s head. She felt her heart jump into her throat as Rylan leaned forward, jaw clenched. “It’s not nothing, it’s not meaningless. You think I honestly would do that? Would hurt someone’s family for a fling?” he spat in disgust. “I know how hard this is for you, Savannah! I know what I’m asking you to risk, to give up. But I wouldn’t be asking you to if this didn’t mean something to me. If I didn’t think that you and I could make this work.”
