Intercon 'N-other awesome Intercon!

It's sometimes strange to realize that we're up to "N" and are still having a great convention year after year. There are so many people to thank for their awesome work and help Making Intercon HappenTM. Operations during the convention were great, too. Operations and Con Suite really shone this year.

But, there were so many LARPs and I heard so many people say that they played in awesome ones this year, too. That old feeling of wanting to play ALL THE LARPs came back with a vengeance. (Maybe I can get one of those time turner thingies....)

So, at Intercon N:
  • I was a panelist on the "Behind the Scenes" Preconvention panel, talking about the kinds of things that we do to Make Intercon HappenTM.
  • I attended the "Difficult Game Content and Communal Responsbility" and learned a little more about the kinds of things to be mindful of in both describing LARPs and actually running them.
  • I was First Mate Andrei Yablokov in "K300: Nyet SOS!", having no choice but to find my Captain more vodka, despite my personal objections, as the ship was falling to pieces around us. It was either that, or be reported to the Political Officer. Or maybe try to find a fire extinguisher. Or...or...well, just try to survive. It was that kind of game.
  • I was one of the GMs for "The Tales of Irnh", written by vortexofchaos and the rest of TNT. I wasn't able to really contribute to this LARP but it came out great. A very intense storytelling LARP that had a few wildly humorous moments.
  • I was Gene in "In Residency", a troubled, dysfunctional writer. (And, aren't we all....) There were some really interesting bits in the LARP for defining one's character but the forced pacing, once the LARP got started, was a little stilted for the group of LARPers that I was playing with.
  • I was also Con Boy of Many Tasks and one of the Senior Statt. On Friday I was doing, among other things, check-in. On Sunday, I was doing ,among other things, helping the Iron GM coordinator and tearing down the Operations Desk.
For Intercon N, I was glad to be Your Registrar, Your Newsletter Author, a member of the NEIL Board and a few other random things that help Make Intercon HappenTM.

And, so, on to Intercon O.
