I appreciate the thoughts. I have wondered what Michael will think of Stephen and how he will react to his brother, and when we should tell him. We've decided that if we take Michael out to Stephen's grave when we go (we had a family picnic there last Friday) it will just a natural part of his life, and we won't have to tell him....he will just ask more about it as he wants to know more. Stephen will just be a part of his life. The whole invisible friend thing didn't occur to me, but you may be right, he might not have one.
We have a picture of Austin and I in the hospital, holding Stephen, hanging on our Family Picture wall. (All you see of Stephen is a bundle of blanket), and Michael loves to stare at that picture, more than any other on the wall. It may just be the bright colors of the writing on the matte. But, my imagination wanders, and, well, you just never know.
