PS3 First Impressions

Yes, I got a PS3. The opportunity arose for me to purchase it in a store, so I took it. I got Resistance: Fall of Man along with it (being the only good game currently out) and I have to say that while not novel (like the Wii), it's a solid system with good potential. Time will tell. I'd like to mention that you're the target audience for the PS3. Unmarried upper middle-class white man with an interest in games, and the budget to support their system.

I just did the math. With the system price as it is, if you were to buy ten games for it, you'd be paying $130 a game for the experience. The same formula is less than half ($65/game) for the Wii.

I think this is gonna be the Neo-Geo all over again. An awesome system that will have a long journey ahead of it to clear the cost hurdle. I won't say it's a niche, because Playstation is a household name. But then again, so is Nintendo.

Upon re-reading it, I agree completely with your comments, but seriously hope that it has a better future than the Neo Geo...

It does, at that. And proper, horizontal screens instead of the irritating vertical ones that Gears and Rainbow 6 have.
