Synopsis: Kangin finds an advertisement for skydiving and wants Eeteuk to go with him!

“Eeteuk-hyung,” Kangin said, staring at the magazine he held in his hands. Eeteuk looked up from the television, his eyebrows lifted in mild curiosity.

“Look at this,” Kangin said, coming over to where Eeteuk was sitting and showing him the magazine. He pointed at an advertisement for skydiving. It featured a photograph of a group of people skydiving in formation next to some text promising a fantastic thrill and contact information.

“Doesn’t it look fun?” he looked at Eeteuk, smiling wildly.

“No,” Eeteuk said, giving Kangin a dubious look.

“Why?” Kangin said, pointing to the ad. “It looks fun! And it’s safe. You do it together with an instructor…”

Eeteuk shook his head and returned his gaze to the television. “It looks frightening.”

“They give you a parachute.”

“So? You’re falling. What if it doesn’t deploy?”

“I’d grab you and you could use mine!”

“Yah,” Eeteuk turned and smiled at him. He patted Kangin’s shoulder. “You’re good to your hyung.”

“I’m serious!” Kangin said, eagerly leaning forward. “Let’s go skydiving!”

“Kangin-ah,” Eeteuk said, laughing a little. “What if both of our parachutes fail?”

“That won’t happen.”

Eeteuk laughed again. “You don’t know that, Kangin.”

“Don’t you think it’d be thrill? Think about what people would say,” Kangin said, quickly changing gears and spreading his hands in the air as if unveiling the future, “’The leader of Super Junior courageously free falls from an airplane, completely unafraid of heights!’”

“Jumping out of an airplane isn’t even free falling, anyway. There’s air resistance.”

“Whatever - does that matter?”

“No,” laughed Eeteuk, “because I’m not going with you.”

“Hyung!” Kangin whined, whacking him on his shoulder.

“Ask someone else! Ask Heehcul!” Eeteuk said, rubbing his shoulder.

“No, I want to go with you.”

Eeteuk laughed and slapped Kangin’s arm in retaliation. “You really want your hyung to suffer that much?”

“No,” Kangin said. “You’d have fun, hyung.”

Eeteuk looked at him with indulgence. “What if I get hurt when I land? Wouldn’t you feel bad?”

“Of course, but that won’t happen,” Kangin pointed to the ad again. “Look at their smiles!”

“It’s advertising, Kangin,” Eeteuk smiled. “It’s supposed to make it look like a blast.”

“I’ll do anything you ask if you go, hyung!”

“Anything?”

“Anything!” Kangin promised.

“Okay,” Eeteuk grinned.

“Really?” Kangin asked, raising his eyebrows. “What are you going to ask me?”

Eeteuk stretched his arms behind his head and yawned. “Who knows?”

“What are you going to ask?”

“Could be anything, couldn’t it.”

Kangin leaned back into the cushions, staring up at the ceiling regretfully. Surely Eeteuk would ask something awful. Why had he promised that?

Eeteuk leaned back next to him and put his head on Kangin’s shoulder, watching the television again.

After a few moments Kangin looked around sharply at Eeteuk and said excitedly “But you’ll go with me?”

“Sure,” Eeteuk said distractedly.

“It’s a promise?”

Eeteuk held up his pinky finger, staring at the television screen, but with a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Kangin hooked his pinky around Eeteuk’s, and then they sealed the deal by pressing their thumbs together and then their hands, in the Korean style of pinky promises.

“We’ll go sometime this year. But if we die, you know the fans will blame you forever, right? You won’t rest peacefully,” Eeteuk said.

“It’ll be fine,” Kangin said. “You’re the leader anyway, they’d naturally blame you….”

“No way,” Eeteuk said, closing his eyes. “One look at you and people know you’re always the guilty one.”

“Am I that bad?” Kangin laughed.

“You’re okay,” Eeteuk said sleepily.

Kangin muttered something about that being an understatement as he began flipping through his magazine again.

After a few minutes, Kangin opened his mouth to say something, but broke off when he say Eeteuk’s face. He was asleep. Kangin looked at him for a few moments and thought of the various pranks he could pull, but in the end decided to let him sleep.

He quietly put the magazine down and watched television instead, making as little noise and as few movements as possible. He’d gotten his way, although it would probably come back to haunt him once Eeteuk made his request.
