My first time writing Kyuwook. I actually really like this pairing. I think it's cute, the two youngest. Anyway, please read and enjoy!! ^ ^ /

Aliens

“Yah!” Ryeowook screamed, clutching Kyuhyun’s arm. “Nooooo, this is scary!” he moaned.

Kyuhyun sunk back into the couch away from the television, his expression horrified but his eyes fixed on the screen. “Kyu!” Ryeowook hid his face against Kyuhyun’s shoulder, shutting his eyes tightly.

“It’s okay,” Kyuhyun said shakily. “How old are we? We can watch this! It’s okay. It’s not tha- EYAH!!!” he screamed and grabbed Ryeowook.

“Ow! Kyu, let’s just turn it off.”

“No, we’ll watch it!”

“Kyu,” Ryeowook peeked over his arm at the TV and winced. “I don’t like scary movies, okay?”

“I want to see it! You said you’d watch it with me.”

Ryeowook shut his eyes. He did say that. But he didn’t know that it was going to be scary. All he wanted was to spend some time alone with Kyuhyun. “Fine,” he said into Kyuhyun’s chest. Fine. He’d watch it, but if he had nightmares…He shifted positions so that he could see the screen, hoping that Kyuhyun was properly appreciating how brave this was for him.

In the end, they were both hiding their eyes and clinging to each other. Ryeowook felt like crying and at one point Kyuhyun cried out in pain because Ryeowook sunk his fingernails into his arm. After it ended, they watched the credits roll with wide eyes. Shakily they looked at each other and Ryeowook smacked him.

“Why did you want to watch this at night?”

“I’m sorry,” Kyuhyun whispered. “Really, never again.”

“I could have told you that. Now I’ll have nightmares,” Ryeowook moaned and grabbed the DVD remote. He turned it off and curled into a ball on the couch. “I don’t like aliens.”

“They don’t really exist.”

“So?! It’s still scary! And what if there really are aliens, huh? We don’t know for sure that there aren’t any!!”

“There aren’t any,” Kyuhyun said with slightly less confidence.

Ryeowook sighed and stood up. Kyuhyun ran a hand over his face, unsettled. Was he seriously that much a coward? He’d heard it was scary, but he didn’t think he would be scared. Ryeowook came out of the bathroom brushing his teeth and stood in the corner looking dejected.

“What are you doing?” Kyuhyun looked over his shoulder at him.

Ryeowook stopped brushing and looked at him with a small amount of venom. “I don’t want to be alone, okay? There’s a window in the bathroom.”

“Seriously, you make me more scared doing that.”

“It’s your fault, Kyu,” Ryeowook stalked over to the sink and spat. “You made me watch that.”

He was right. “I’m sorry,” he said guiltily.

“Me too,” Ryeowook sniffed. “I won’t get to sleep. I’ll be up all night staring into the dark and watching for aliens because of you.”

“I’m sorry.”

Ryeowook sighed and sat down again. He pushed Kyuhyun off of the couch. “Go brush your teeth, or your teeth will decay.”

Kyuhyun didn’t bother to complain about how bossy Ryeowook could be and went to brush his teeth, because honestly, he was glad that Ryeowook wasn’t going to his own room while he did so. Standing in front of the sink, his eyes wandered over to the window and his heart flew into his throat. It was a big window. Anything could get in. No, he thought. It’s locked! And there’s no such thing as aliens.

He forced himself to finish brushing his teeth and walked over to Ryeowook, who looked at him with narrowed eyes. Probably to hide how scared he was, he thought. For a few seconds they just looked at each other.

“Ryeowook,” Kyuhyun said. “Let’s sleep together, okay?”

“Why?” Ryeowook frowned.

“Because...it...let’s just sleep in my room, okay?”

“No,” Ryeowook stood up. “If you’re scared, it’s your own fault! I won’t make it better for you.”

“Ryeowook,” Kyuhyun said pleadingly, but Ryeowook shook his head. “Fine!” Kyuhyun stalked into his own room, and Ryeowook headed towards his. Ryeowook looked into his dark room and faltered, his heart hammering. No way. No way he could reach in there just to turn on the light, and no way he could go into his room while it was dark. He bit his lip and took one step backwards. Then he ran into Kyuhyun’s room.

“Kyu,” he cried, climbing onto his bed. “I can’t,” he said and crawled up to the head of the bed between Kyuhyun and the wall. “Please let me in.” He tugged on the blanket. By the faint light from the living room he could see Kyuhyun smile victoriously, and they both pulled the blanket down so that Ryeowook would climb in. Kyuhyun hugged him closely.

“Is the window locked?” Ryeowook asked nervously, snuggling into Kyuhyun as closely as he could.

“Yes,” Kyuhyun said.

“Did we lock the main door?”

“Yes.”

“So everything’s locked?”

“Yes.”

“Okay,” Ryeowook breathed. “You sure?”

“Yes,” Kyuhyun said and then laughed. Ryeowook laughed nervously with him.

“Pull the blanket up,” Ryeowook said, glancing over Kyuhyun’s shoulder at the dark ceiling.

“Okay.” Kyuhyun pulled it up over their heads. “That better?”

“Yeah,” Ryeowook said. “When I was a kid I did this. Bad things can’t find you when you sleep underneath your blanket.” He laughed.

“All kids do that,” Kyuhyun said softly. He certainly did. “You still scared?”

“I’m scared as hell!” Ryeowook answered. “Next time we rent a movie, it’s gonna be a chick flick or something.”

Kyuhyun laughed. He repositioned his arms around Ryeowook and stroked his back, trying to make him feel as protected as possible. “You’re like a girl,” Kyuhyun laughed.

“I am not!”

“Yeah you are,” Kyuhyun said, affectionately teasing him. “What would you do if I kissed you?”

“Kyu! Don’t!” Ryeowook said, blushing.

Kyuhyun laughed. “I wouldn’t...but see, you aren’t thinking about aliens anymore, are you?”

“Now I am since you mentioned it again,” Ryeowook moaned. “Stop it.”

“Fine. Can you sleep?”

“Can you?”

“Maybe,” he laughed again. “Don’t leave, okay?”

“I’m staying here.” Ryeowook blushed again.

“All night?”

“Yeah.”

“Let’s try and sleep then, okay?”

“Kyu…”

“What?”

“Can you…can you sing me to sleep?” Ryeowook wished he could be a tortoise, so he could vanish into his shell and hide as soon as he said it. Kyuhyun didn’t answer for a few seconds, and Ryeowook felt so embarrassed that he almost wanted to run from the room. Why did he say that? Stupid.

“Sure,” Kyuhyun said quietly. He slowly took a deep breath, and then sang softly. He didn’t sing any words, much to Ryeowook’s relief. Ryeowook gradually became comfortable again and shut his eyes, concentrating on Kyuhyun’s lyrical, soothing voice. After a few minutes, Kyuhyun trailed off on the last note, and they both drifted asleep.
