I completely agree with everything you just said. I feel frustrated with people that use the term "wife" for someone they are not legally bound to. I understand the complications of this in places where gay marriage is not legal, but when people here call someone their wife when they are not married, i feel an uncontrollable urge to scream. I also agree that getting engaged early in a relationship is ridiculous. While obviously people change through life and you can't predict everything i believe you must be with someone a minimum of a year to understand them in every season before you can have any clue if you can make it together. Marriage is a far more complicated commitment then most lesbians give it.

I'm happy to see that you and Nicole are doing well and nearing your marriage, you deserve the best Kate! I hope all is well.
