This entry will be semi-photographic. And allll Man-tastic, baby (thank you for this phrase, munkey_salad).

Congratys to Westwood for your ass-kicking performances and well-deserved awards.

And then we stayed up until the wee hours.

Congrats. Keep it real in Red Deer, and enjoy missing more of High School. It's only semi-important, anyways.

This is a shout out to one of my favourite bands, Shout Out Out Out Out (n'yuk, n'yuk, a shout out to shout out. please don't hit me again). They're a six-piece local edmonton band, but don't be detered by the "Local" band stigma. Shout Out is/are fantastic, but not in the 'I support local music because it makes me feel cool' way. These guys are the underground kings of dance rock, a throwback to the past and a shot to the future all in one . Shout Out's lineup consists of two drummers(!), several bass players (depending on the song, this number varies from two to three), double synth, some robot-like vocals and a hint of cowbell thrown in for good measure (for those familiar with the Edmonton music scene, both members of Whitey Houston are within this band).

Having difficulty imagining this?

Listen to "Nobody Calls Me Unless They Want Something"
"But please don't call me any mooORooORe"

and also

Listen to "Tiiiiired" as well

They're all over CBC Radio 3 as of late, have received great reviews at the immense SXSW festival down in Texas, and deserve every morsel of praise and recognition they're given. I've had the good fortune of interviewing one of them for the gateway (Vocalist/Synth player). You can read the article here:

And well i'm on a roll, here are some terrible pictures from one of their shows. They really don't do it justice, but whatever.

Other people have taken better pictures:

Shout Out have only vinyl for sale right now, but the album, "Not Sayin/Just Sayin", is slated for a June release. Expect to see this band explode onto the indie music stage then.
