tch, it's not as if it's permanent or anything, then it wouldn't be as funny.

[Knowing how crucial it is to keep records and backups, Stellaris feels she can't wait any longer to have this talk with Veda. Standing at his door after knocking, she resolves to try her best at not commenting on his eyes, in case he gets offended and shuts in. In her hands is a brown paper bag holding a bunch of oranges.]

[Veda answers the door himself - though his dog's barking is fairly audible in the background. He's dressed normally, for him, though his glasses are missing, and there's a small square of gauze loosely taped over his injured eye socket. Above it, the raised red welt of a fresh scar runs into his hairline, partially obscured by his bands.

He looks very briefly surprised at who's appeared on his doorstep, but it's gone in a second, and the corners of his mouth tighten slightly as he tries to rein in the feelings that seeing her brings up.]

Stellaris.

[She felt a flash of guilt-misplaced, irrational-upon seeing his injuries hadn't fully healed, whereas all of hers had vanished without a single scar, including that of the excruciating slash to her thorax. She tried masking it with a small smile.]

Is this a good time?

He nods, shortly, and then steps out of the doorway to let her in]

I am free.
